A letter from Calcemo....

I've played a lot of hours on the game and had a few times when a courier has run up to me and delivered a letter from Calcemo in Markarth asking me to bring him a special item which he'll pay coin for, every time before its been items like a dwarven sword enchanted with fire damage, or an elven bow of soul trap or something, but I had to laugh when I recieved his letter today.

Dear Barney, it has come to my attention you may have recently acquired a certain Dwarven Arrow from Whiterun. I'm not sure how such an object came to find itself resting there, but if you still have it I will pay handsomely.

Dude!!! I've got 500 of them, i'm comin!!!!!!

It can be any dwarven artifact for that matter had also letters for arrows, bolts, armor, weapons (enchanted and without). It also can be that you got several letters in a play through.

I have received this quest numerous times, but he buys only the one arrow.

I'd better not tell him you can buy them at the blacksmiths for a few coin. Might get a good racket going here.

Its always a dwaven ingot for me, and currently its stuck as even though I have one he won't buy it from me.

Its a radient quest I believe and you can get it multiple times.

I've been playing Skyrim for nearly 3 yewrs now and i have never got a letter from him. And i killed the spider for him:)

4694 hours playing Skyrim and this has never happened to me, yet i know of his letters for Dwarven stuff.

This quest is most likely to start, when you buy an dwarwen item. It rarely - if ever - launches, when you pick something up.

I do not know if this is intentional, or is the quest able to register only bought items properly.

Indeed only bought dwarven items count. However I also have something of WTF... I mean you buy something in a shop the other end of skyrim and calcelmo sees fit to know, sent a letter and delivered by courier in an instant after you leave the shop ... wish I could.

I didn't get the letter until after I had destroyed it learning the enchantment. Spent the rest of the day playing the game trying to find another one.

if your good at smithing, you'll soon find out he is ripping you off, not the other way around.
