Corpse clean up?
I just wonder how fast the game actually collects the corpses and can it be helped in any way. For example, corpses of dragons, vampires and locals in Riften get removed pretty quick. But corpses of cultists or locals in Riverwood seem to be lying around forever.

I find it silly that Sigrid talks of Alvor in a missing way weeks after he was killed by a dragon, and there he still lies, at the ground surface in lumber mill. No one ever buried him.

Yeah it's too bad in Oblivion Shivering Isles every resident you killed got their own gravestone and everything

Most NPCs that inhabit towns (except followers) have a WIDeadBodyCleanup script attached to them that removes their corpse after a day or so. The devs likely didn't add it to the cultists as they have a quest-specific note in their inventories. As far as Riverwood is concerned, they probably just forgot.

Hey, Bethesda....Hire me to test-play your games before you release them to the public. I'm the guy who explores everywhere, and I can find any place where a PC can get stuck. Glad I found the TCL console command. I can play any quest and find some kind of glitch. I'd like my dollar's worth when I play your excellent games.

cultists never disappear, they have no cleanup script to remove their bodies. Whiterun citizens get sent to the Hall of the Dead eventually and they have coffin space reserved for them. Riverwood... never looked into it but at a guess as they don't have a Hall they don't disappear.

What's the time till they are removed?
should be 24/48 hours but sometimes they like to stick around for a long time

Use the "Clean up your corpses" mod or just disable them if you want to get rid of them.

At cell refresh - which is every 10-30 days, depending on the cell. Wilderness cells are at the long end, city cells at the short.

If in a city and a random attack happens, I drag the bodies into a area not alway walked by the citizens, and if still there couple days later, just use console, disable then markfordelete, but make sure you first person veiw and have the4 game cursor over the body right click the body so the id comes up, other wise you might disable apart of the scenery...
