NPC Spawn
NPC's take 10 days to respawn in an area that you cleared like a bandit camp, but is there any way to make them not spawn there again?

Hi all, I've not posted on this Skyrim forum before, but decided to re-use this old topic rather than start a new one. Can anyone advise why this is happening? Is there a .ini tweak or something to modify it? Thanks to anyone who can offer any help.

I've been playing Skyrim for a couple of years. Since re-installing a couple of months ago, I've had a respawning effect I never used to get, don't know if it's vanilla or mod-caused, but I don't think it's a mod, I get NPCs or animals spawn right next to me now. For example, a bear just pops into existence alongside me as I'm riding down the road.

Yesterday, my new L5 character was clearing out Bthalft (where the Aetherium Forge is) is for a kill the bandit chief vanilla radiant quest. I killed 2 bandits and headed through the outdoor ruin to get the last one when 3 vampires appeared. I thought maybe they spawned somewhere nearby, so okay, killed them. Job done, I dismounted and turned round to loot the containers there and had barely moved, when 3 more bandits spawned in the middle of the ruins, right at my back. The new bandit chief half-killed me before I even had time to react. Neither the vampires nor the new bandits were on my compass when I entered the ruins.

This doesn't happen often, but it's very immersion-breaking to have hostiles or even friendly NPCs pop into existence right next to you, if it's not justified by any special ability or scripted event.

Start a new topic.

That's a weird bug ... I think we'll need to see your mod list at the very least. And I have to agree with NerdRising on this one... the topic isn't even correct to the issue, you should have just started a thread.

To answer the original OPs question ... no it's normal for a spawn point to soft reset every 10 days in game, and for a hard reset every 30 all based on the in game clock and impossible to turn off without modding specific spawn points individually.

To get to your issue ... That specifically sounds like it could be several things. Either you have several mods modifying the same generic spawn points (Like OBIS conflicting with Skytest while Requiem is loaded)

OR you (or a mod) changed the way the game renders the world in such a way that it's ignoring the Ugrids rules. That can happen with DynDOLOD if you play with the advanced settings AND have modified the default Ugrids to be other than 5.

There are other strange things you could do, but they're not obviously connected to this error.

We'll need a little more info to dig under the hood deeper ... start with a mod list.
