Alduin "First Fight" invincible??????

so I just got the Dragon scroll which allows you to go back in time to see the Dragon-Rend shout being used by the nords, and when you get back Alduin appears. WELL: as you could guess by the title he is invincible, I hit him with the dawnbreaker and he takes no damage, and is not set on fire, also the other dragon's attacks won't damage him either, I tried using different weapons, and even re-loading my save to before I go back in time but nothing is working! I really have to know how to fix this or I cant even progress in the game. PLEASE HELP

The thing is, I cant beat him the first time, his HP bar dose not go down, even when on the ground with dragon rend he will not take damage, so how am I supposed to get to Whiterun?

If you are in the quest where it says "Defeat Alduin" on the screen then yes you do kind of defeat him in the sense of lowering his health to zero or near zero. But he survives. There is a glitch with that scene as I experienced it also. His health bar actually disappears. Nothing to do but restart the scene till it shows. Do you have conjure Flame Atronach or the Lightning Skies shout? How about the Sanguine Rose? The latter is what sealed the deal for me as I hid behind a rock up on the slope and shot arrows & dragonrend when I could.

Yes, I believe Lightning spell and enchanted weapons injure all dragons.

WELP GUYS/OR GALS, I FIXED IT, (well not really) my game crashed when all the audio when all weird on me, and then when I re-loaded Skyrim he took damage. Thanks for trying to help though guys/gals :)

when you discover Skyhaven Temple you should have had found a sword called " Dragonbane" use it on ALDUIN

Brother of, SONS of CANADA. what is your load-order in your DATA FILE- 2 down from play. you might have a problem in there, do you have the full game= Skyrim 3 DLC'S and the Hi Res Texture Pack and do you have the Unoffical Patches installed

You fixed it? Good.
But guys, ffs, read the topic next time. He says he CAN'T damage Alduin, his health bar won't go down. It's a very common bug that was supposedly fixed in the latest patch, but still tends to show up. It's easier to fix than it was before though. You can just fast travel away and back, enter High Hrothgar and then return to fight Alduin, or reload an older save, which is the case in this topic.

It is a bug, I had the same problem with the first fight with alduin, I solved the problem making fast travel to whiterun and fast travel again to the fight with alduin.

A bit of a necropost, but now that it came up, this is quite simple to fix. Alduin is simply not properly cleared from the effect from previous scene.

- When the battle starts, open your console window.
- Target Aladuin trough console with your mouse and click.
- Type: disable [ENTER]
- Type: enable [ENTER]
- Close console window.

Alduin will disappear and reappear refreshed from obsolete effect that made him invincible.
