I give up on this game and Bethesda
So, for no reason at all, even with no mods, I can no longer save. I put a decent amount of time in my character and I ran into a bug which doesn't allow me to save. I did every possible fix I found and nothing worked. Even the supposedly magical die and can save fix. This isn't the first time I ran into a game breaking bug in Skyrim, let alone any Bethesda game. If they can't make a game that doesn't break all the time, they don't deserve my money. Some of you will disagree with me, but face it, they make the most broken games for a AAA company. Bethesda is literally why I support piracy to some degree. If they can't fix their own games and need to rely on their community to do so, there's something wrong.

EDIT: And no it's not my computer if anyone is wondering. Same thing happened when I had Fallout 3 for PS3 (not the same bug, but one that wouldn't let me progress)

Well I agree with you mate.. not saying that this bug happened to me, just some minor bugs like falling through the floor but nothing happened or stupid freeze.. or Loading Screen freezes but the dust from the LS is moving ... but yeah.. they dont deserve money on a game that isn't at least without bugs...

I feel sorry for you, but maybe you are shooting the pianist, and not the composer? :)

Beaware that the game is installed on millions of PC players rig.

How many complains do you see around your problem? Very few I assume seen in compare.

If this was caused by the game itself, and Beth, could we then not assume that the complain was massive?, and if so...do you not think Beth would have fixed it....because as you say...it destroy the game.....how can the press give such a game 90%, and almost the same from millions of players, if the game had these problems?

So maybe the right place is to start looking nearer to home......but I agree...It is much more easy, and comfortable to blame the game.

Not to say you're wrong, but Bethesda is known for broken games. I don't always have a major bug, but I DO always have some kind of bug. Like I was playing NV earlier and a Deathclaw was stuck in a rock.

Rhuto is not necessary to see that lots of people have the same problem, but thousands or even more have a major bug that destroy their experience.. and not even saying about minor bugs but you can go over them..

I have 1300 hours...a lot have much more then that...we still play...we don't see these problems....even if I have more then 50 mods running...some have over 100 mods....about bugs...haven't had any game breaking bugs yet, and with such a complex game you must expect some at the start...but I think what is gamebreaking are fixed...or given workarounds...

can you save using the console command? it would be a pain but could atleast save your game

Strange. I never had any bugs that werent fixable. I can count on a hand the major bugs I have had that didnt allow me to progress. Those were fixable by console or by other methods.
Minor bugs are very funny in my opinion. Its a bird! Its a plane! No, its a mammoth randomly falling from the sky :D

Not sure if you are looking for help or just had to rage a little?

I like to explore everywhere, and I do get stuck in places some times. Glad I learned the TCL command. Also have a great mod "Teleport gun" that has gotten me out of a few tight spots. Sorry about your No Save problem. I have not had that problem, but Bethesda does release games before they have been thoroughly tested it seems.

I'm going to jump out there and say that you can have two identical machines, install vanilla Skyrim and have one of the two machines be ridden with a multitude of bugs from the start. it just happens like that. Sometimes you may have to remove the software a few times before it finally just works too! :)

So I managed to fix it (for now). I loaded an old character, made another save slot with them then ovewrote it with the broken character and it saved. Now I can load and save freely again. I think the game was having trouble overwriting that save (and autosaves) for some reason. Though oddly enough, I couldn't make a new save slot with that character, could only overwrite another character's save.

id say thats weird but like you said these things happen in bethesda games. it is the price we pay for so much crap going on in the AI we dont see and dont know about. ill take the occasional bug over any linear nonevolving craptastical game out there even if if those run smooth
Skadi May 25, 2014 @ 10:43am
So now it's doing it again. This is ridiculous.

EDIT: ok so, it's working AGAIN. Apparently it tried autosaving over the broken autosave which cause it to crash again. Deleted the autosaves and it autosaved fine.

Why is it such a damn headache to get a game to play properly is beyond me.

If it's happening in both Skyrim and fallout 3 there is a very good chance its you and not the game. I've played over 300 hours and have never come across this bug, you have played 30 on both games and this bug has appeared. Doesn't make much sense...

I haven't had many issues with NV cept for creatures getting stuck in rocks. Fallout 3 I've had tons of problems with and have 100+ hours on for PS3, not PC.
