Questions about the HD-Texture pack
Just bought "Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Legendary Edition" on the this weeks Steam sale. My brother told med there's some sort of "HD-texture pack" i should download that makes the game look alot better. He said that i should go fort the standard "HD-tecture pack" and not everything that's out there, cause there's alot. Where do i find this "HD-texture pack" and what's it called? Moreover, will my PC be able to coop with this game and the the texture pack i just mentioned. Thanks in advance

Spec: i5 4690K 3.5GHZ, GTX770 2GB/ CUII/OC, 16GB RAM

It's a free DLC from steam. You can select it there, and yes it does dramatically improve the vanilla game ...

If you're new to Skyrim, Welcome ... first things first. download and install USLEEP it fixes a huge number of bugs and glitches, Do that before you even start playing and you'll have a much better time. Look at the pinned threads at the top of the forums.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71214

This is the link to the nexus file ... you'll need to create an account, but don't panic when you see the payment info screens, it's a free service you just have to look for the continue button on the bottom and create the account for free

I found the HD-Texture mod but should i install USLEEP before installing that?

I would allow the texture pack to complete downloading if you already subscribed, then install USLEEP, also I forgot to mention, sorry ... there is also a patch for the HD texture pack.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/31255. Install this after USLEEP.

there are also some basic tools if you're going to mod. LOOT is probably the most important. but there is no need to do it all at once... Learn and have fun. reading the player spreadsheet will answer a lot of your basic questions. I highly recommend taking a few minutes and reading it.

This thread is extremely useful, and has links to other guides and all the tools needed.

Can't i just install the HD-texture pack and be done with it? I feels like i've gotta do alot of reserach before understandning how and where to find all the mods you're mentioning and i get the feeling that actually playing the game will have to wait with this approach. I just want to play the game, when you say Nexus and USLEEP i'm lost. Remember this is my first time with any of the Elder Scrolls games and i'm manily here for the game. I hope i don't sound rude, that's not my intention i just wanna play the game as fast as possible :)

the patches just make it play better, you don't technically need any of them , but it does make it better

Yeah, i understand that. Sp, say i would like to install the USLEEP then, where do i find it and how do i install it (the easy way)?
Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch (USLEEP) {LINK REMOVED}

Do not use if you don't have all 3 dlc.

Nexus
{LINK REMOVED}

EDIT: Use Nexus Mod Manager (NMM), as a beginner. It's the easiest mod manager to use. Also get tools for safe modding. LOOT: {LINK REMOVED}
TES5Edit: {LINK REMOVED}
Wrye Bash: {LINK REMOVED}

Those are your initial tools. Happy modding. :)

BTW, does the HD-Texture pack support all the DLC in The Legendary Edition or just the base game so to speak?

DL USLEEP manually in Nexus. Extract al files in .zip directly into Steam/steamapps/common/Skyrim/Data/ folder.

So i installed both "The High Resolution Texture Pack" and the "Unofficial Skyrim Legendary Edition Patch". I'm also thinking of installing the "patch for the HD texture pack", do i install that the same way i did with USLEEP, that is extracting it into the data-folder of the Skyrim-folder?

Yes, and make sure your load order in the data section of the launcher is;
dawnguard
hearthfires
dragonborn
USLEEP
official high res packs 1-3 in numerical order
USKP for texture pack
