Nightingale Strife (vampiric AOE) is a lone worth of getting trough the questline and become a nightingale. Not that it binds you to anything; Nocturnal really isn't active patron for his/her sentries.

You are now a servant of Nocturnal forever, enjoy the small lifetime of benefits you get for selling your soul ^_^

(Even if I do the same thing most playthroughs >.<)

You could always just not do the missions, but you really should

Conditions actually are: Untill she sees that you have filled your part of the bargain and she releases you.

Granted, that it is unlikely scenario for Dragonborn. It is warned that you are tied to your doom, but that actually has more to do with your thieving ways. Still, you might yet live your afterlife in the halls of Sovngarde, even if you spent millenia in shadows before that.

I wouldn't mind. My character is a thief in heart. What could be best than watching over those that come after your and ward them with shadows, blessed by Notcturnals luck?

*too busy hording newly stolen items into a treasure cache in a hidden cave to hear what you said.*

Sorry, what?

I was too busy being a shadowy, specterly thief to listen.

*Goes back to guarding the trove of antique, powerful and pricy trinkets that pile up towards the cavernous ceiling. The dim light reaching into the cave play off the gold and jewels to create a mesmerizing display of colors and a warm glow that seeps into the walls.*

(What's better is being the new dead-king of thieves! :P)

That... is actually much better than old romantic's literal antics.

Dunno what you're referring to.

At least I am not being too obvious. :D

ohhh >.< The lack of 'an' before 'old romantic' made me think you were referring to somebody that went by the pseudonym of 'old romantic' XD.

Carry on! XD (btw, awesome avatar pic. The sunglasses look bad@ss)

"...better than an old romantic's..."
Yeah, English is not my 1st language. :D

Picture is few years old and taken in my firends bachelor party. I wasn't... well, let's just say that glasses were needed, because my eyes were far from being clear in that point. It was a good day.
You should get a basic "no" somewhere during the quest but that for some reason doesn't happen. Once you enter the cavern you are locked into the outcome.

I know I saw a mod where you can say no to becoming a nightingale. No clue how it handled ending the questline. I'm sure you'll find it on the Nexus.

Shouldn't have been that difficult.

Just Force the quest to go through the next section without you (or skip it) and continue on your merry way~

Of course, it probably wouldn't flow very well, since you can't really alter some dialogue sections without it sounding really weird >.<

I remember seeing that mod too :D
Almost got it, except I'd already been a nightingale in that playthrough >.<
