Haha, its not possible. Well, technically it probably is but its so insanely troublesome that no-one in their right mind would even try. You'd have to move every mesh, marker and possibly alter the AI packages of resident NPC's. Not worth the effort believe me.

would going into the creation kit and copying and pasting the estate work? i mean itd be the exact same estate and everything, just a new area

There might be scripts present that refer to the original location.

If you are comfortable around CK, then you could create your own Hearhfire compatible home. If not, then Nexus is filled with them.

I don't see the point meddling around HD homes, when alternatives are available.

Nope. There are several different layers to the homes.

1. The building and items themselves - you can't just select a house and move it and its items. You'll have to move the buildings and then place every single item by hand again.

2. Navmeshes - you'll have to edit the navmesh at the place you are putting the new house, so that it follows the terrain there and shows the NPC's where the impassible stuff is (ie walls, trees, rocks, tables, etc).

3. Place the script triggers for the house.

Its certainly *doable* and a learning experience (and once done you can export it as a mod for others to use).

Even if you could then there's the small issue with the quests related to it .... and it makes also no sense to do a quest for the jarls in falkreath, morthal and dawnstar to get a house in whiterun hold.
