ENB CTD issues
ENB simply doesn't work, I've tried both The Wilds and Project ENB, following the instructions to the letter. It causes my game to CTD right as it finishes loading. This is with both the injector or wrapper versions or a new game or a loaded save. Without ENB I have no problems. Skip past post #10 on this thread because for 10 posts I thought the problem was something else.

When exactly is it crashing? Before the main menu appears - or when you try to load a save?

You should probably read this if you haven't too :

When I load a save or start a new game, it's annoying having to redo my settings every day just to play.

What's weird is, it seems to be a daily occurance. If the game crashes mid session and I load it back up again, it works just fine. But if I quit the game then play it the next day, THEN the issues begin again.

Okay scratch that the game isn't ♥♥♥♥ing working at all now

Well - with a crash on game load - I'd say the save was corrupted or some of your mods are conflicting (if you're using them) - but the new games too?

Check over your ini tweaks - a lot of whats bouncing around the internet is actually a bad idea and just makes the game unstable. That link I provided is a big help for that.

If its crashing before the main menu appears - you are missing master files for mods. Deleted or added anything lately? Using LOOT for your load order?

You can just back up your tweaked INI & SKSE files though - instead of redoing them everyday, ya know? Would save you some time ...

The only tweak I make now is to stop data files from being greyed out. I literally make zero tweaks.

Okay I tried all mods off, vanilla settings and a new game and it still doesn't work. I have not caused this problem because it's just random.

I've found the cause of the crash, it's Project ENB. When using ENB I get an instant CTD every single time. When I uninstall it I'm fine, any way to fix this?

Play without ENB would be the logical solution

Well what he says is it true up there - but obviously you're ENB is not configured properly.

Make sure you're reading the instructions in the mod description thoroughly. Without knowing what gfx card you have and what you're doing to the ENB ini files exactly - its kinda hard to suggest anything else.

Okay, I am following the instructions to the letter and I'm using an AMD 7970. It used to work in the past and now it doesn't. I'm only editing the ENB files now as it's telling me to and I'm still getting an INSTANT CTD as soon as the game loads. It doesn't matter if it's a new game or not. I tried The Wilds ENB and I get the exact same thing so I'm left to conclude that it's a problem with ENB.

"Just don't play with enb" is not a solution because if I can't find a solution, that's literally what I'm going to do.

Ok - I don't use ENBs myself - so bear with me.

I do know AMD users have to do some funky stuff to get them working properly. Hence I don't use them :)

If you're doing everything exacly per descriptions then cool - but if you've been mixing ENBs around and not clearing out the folder properly then you may have settings or files from one ENB conflicting with the other ... that could be why its crashing.

Just to confirm - you are using The Wilds Reload? Not the older The Wilds?

Got a feeling the older one won't work with up to date ENB binaries.

Vanilla Skyrim looks awful. No, the logical conclusion is to follow the directions properly.
And use a better + up to date ENB. Realvision perhaps.

That's just straight up false. Why is there so much AMD misinfo out there??

There are other options beside ENB - that don't take a massive hit to performance. Though you're right - vanilla is bleh!

Hey man - its been awhile. But when I did try to use ENB there were all these install notes saying : AMD users add this line to ini, do this here etc.

If its changed then I apologise.
