WHAT THE FRICKEN FRACK BETHESDA!
I wish i didnt have to say this but why the FRACK did they not make lydia invincable. Shes the only op dragon slaying follower and she dies in the middle of a bandit fight. Like wtf bethesda you make the only loveable, emotion filled, op character die by bandits!!!! LIKE FRIKEN FRAK BETHESDA WAHT THE FRIKEN FRACK BETHESDA WHAT THE FFRIKEN FRACK!!!

Lydia only lived for a short day in this game. We grew up together practicly. I just hope I CAN GET A MOD FOR A RESURACTEION SPELL FRIKKAN FRACK BETHESDA NOT INCLUDING THTA!!! FRIKEN FRACKERLORD FRIKETY FRACK FRACK!!!

Thats all for now

(Not to be taken seriously, but really why isnt lydia essential?)

Just bring her back to life and move on, or set her unkillable flag.

She can't be killed by enemies*. Lydia will go to bleedout stage and recover later.
You are the only one that can kill her.

So, what the fricken frak Jonod #FIFA SUCKS? Why did you kill Lydia?

(Not to be taken seriously, bu really why did you kill her?)

*= Fact. I am not messing around with you. See any wiki pages about her to make sure that I am correct.

you can use a setessential command to prevent her from dying ,so she gets knocked down until she regens or you heal her.

Actually, you are correct. It is a rare case, but Lydia can die for bleedout. She is recovering her healt while down and enemies are ignoring her, as far there is someone else they can fight against.

The arrow that killed her might have been launched prior of her bleedout stage, so it was able to kill her.

Had the same problem each time I took her adventuring, we would get into a fight and she would step in front of me just as I strike and BOOM, dead. Ticked me off so now I never have followers.

hah - if she didn't die there she'd have committed suicide using a swinging spike trap sometime later on in your game. Vanilla followers are attracted to traps - lol. Yesterday my stupid dog (Meeko) decided to lay down on a fire tile and didn't even yelp as he quickly turned to ash. That's why I only usually use him on hunting trips. BTW - She's not the only OP housecarl - they're all exactly the same apart from Valdimar(sp?) When I rarely play as a mage I cheat with my Lydia nowadays: (setessential a2c83 1) Why Lydia? She's intimidating when I'm a little Breton :P

Which is why i never have followers...they get in the way.

I only generally use followers AFTER I have the unrelenting force shout - you know why - lol.

This current play through (which I might well abort quite soon) I'm using Inigo for the very first time. He's much better at not geting in the way but still gets in the flippin' way. Apology or not - it's annoying. So, Next playthrough? I'm with you, MistySun - and back to my norm. Dogs are hunting companions, housecarls are there to watch my back when I'm outside crafting or mundanely chopping wood for arrow shafts.

This happens even more often if you are a mage since AoE magic harms everyone in the area.

Thing is she doesnt die unless you kill her.

+1 - well aside from the Sven part. I usually leave Lydia at home until the Battle of Whiterun - then I drag her out for the fight.

Then I purposefully kill her so I can have a zombie housecarl defending my home!
