Nope. They're all compeltly unrelated plot-wise, though to fully enjoy Dragonborn you should play Bloodmoon

Nope, though there some links none are essential to the story, there references that's all. And yeah Dragonborn is half a hommage to TES3 Morrowind: Bloodmoon so not having played that makes it less awesome.

Each Elder Scrolls game is made by a different team so no two ES games are alike.

Not really, this is 200 years after the previous installment, Oblivion, and that has little or no impact on Skyrims storyline.

You don't have to play the other games to know what's going on, but as Mormacil pointed out, there are indeed references here and there throughout the series which build up to the events of Skyrim. You could say they lead up to the main plot because Skyrim involves a prophecy that centers around the return of the dragons, particularly Alduin, and that the prophecy is fulfilled by events that happen in each game. You don't have to play the other games because all you need to know is what event in each one contributed to the prophecy's fulfillment if you are curious as to what the causes of the dragons' return are. Nerevar said you could play Bloodmoon prior to Dragonborn to enjoy it, but I think it's more of a case of familiarizing yourself with Solstheim as I'm not sure if the story of Dragonborn was referenced in Bloodmoon since I didn't play it yet.
