Planning on buying Legendary Edition, but already have Base Game.
I'm planning on buying the Skyrim: Legendary Edition, but I already have the base Skyrim game. Will I be able to just, generally not use the base game but still have Legendary Edition?
Will I have to uninstall the base game or ask Steam Support to wipe the base game from my account to be replaced by the Legendary Edition?
I'd buy the DLC separate... But all 3 DLC in total is $22.50, and the Legendary Edition is about half that (not quite, but almost), and I really don't want to waste my money.
TL;DR: Will I be able to buy Legendary Edition if I already have just plain Skyrim?

Neither, I too got the Legendary Edition even though I have the base game when I bouht the Edition it just gave me the 3 DLC's that were on there and I didn't have an extra copy, so you should be completely fine! Let me know if you have any problems.

Buying Legendary Edition if you own the base just grants you whatever in the Legendary Edition you didn't already own.

I just did this exact thing.... for $14, I got the two $9.99 (discounted price even!) Expansion DLC, Dawnguard and Dragonborn. It warns you that you will not be given the extra pieces when you checkout. But seriously, for those of us who got this game when it came out and paid the $60, (or maybe got the 10% discount on the first 3 days?) this was the cheapest I have seen it get down to. Since I have had way too much fun with my first two playthroughs, why not?
