Only scary part in the game.
As the saying goes the first time is always the most intense.
it wasnt scary but i my hands really shaked and were sweaty :)
I guess the scariest thing i ever saw in skyrim was the castle of the vempires, (with all the body parts and blood) and then the vempire lord, gave me shivers :p
No dragon, dragon priest of Braith scares me as much than this guy. First time I went in expecting to deal with just another master vampire. Movarth Piquine was more than I could handle.
Stealth tactics don't work well either, because he regenerates mana fast and is able to heal himself. He is one of the few guys that I am actually scared to face in Skyrim.
If you're a high enough level, you can just snipe him from afar with a bow while sneaking if your sneak and archery skills are good. He should go down in just one shot, perhaps two if he still has some health left; though I doubt that second bit because of the perk which multiples the damage done by bows while sneaking, so it should only be one shot.
Then you'd better hope that first shot does the job. Apologies if I was a bit blunt, but that's just what you need to count on when playing on master difficulty. Again, make sure you're on a high level to pull this off successfully so you don't have to worry about him anymore.
Those things aren't that bad, actually. They're just like their normal brethren, only with wings and a different appearance. You can actually find them in several Falmer dungeons even when you're not doing Dawnguard, so they're pretty common as a matter of fact. You should be used to them if you go spelunking into dungeons, including the Falmer dungeons.
