Help with spell resistance
Hello, im playing as an Orc, with 1h mace + shield, heavy armor and a healing spell.
Im level 12 and got full dwarven armor set. Most enemies cant harm me much,
but mages, own my 4ss! i dont do alchemy or enchanting because it will spread
my skills to thin, and eventually i will lack many good skills i will need as soon as possible.
My main skills are: 1h, block, heavy armor
secondary skills: restoration, smithing

my shield, a random find, got 13% spell resistance, and i got some weak spell resistance potions. But its not enough, anyone got any tips on how to boost my spell resistance?

P.S
Im playing on Master difficulty

Working on alteration spells to get the 3 perks there for a 30% resistance is a start. There is also the Lord's stone for another 25%, and a quest from the temple of Mara in Riften that gives you an extra 15%. That's 70% right there, and would be more than enough combined with the blocking perks. There are also many pieces of equipment that carry the magic resist enchant if you're lucky enough to find them.

Currently im really close to strenching my skills too much, im already at a stage where
my skills are better then the bonuses i pick for them (for example my heavy armor is lacking some important upgrades because i had to spend points on other skills), so alteration will only make me weaker as i will have to spend even more points into it. Ill try the lord stone and the quest, maybe it will be enough

K i found the temple of Mara in Riften, how do i get the quest?
I talked to the priest, donated money, prayed to the goddes, still nothing :p

He is not the one that gives you the quest. Go to the temple and talk to his wife.

I don't agree that putting some time into alchemy or alteration will make you weaker. It will make you less of a specialist, but not weaker. Still, that is the beauty of a game like this: play any way you want.

Also, a decent bow & arrows can be helpful when a mage is kiting you, especially if you can stun with your bow or have magica poison on your bow.

you can get mods but if you dont want to there is a mod with elemental shields that when you block it absorbs all magic damage

About what level are you "maybe" going to complete the game? Level 35 or going till you hit 80? The reason I ask is that it's a 45 perk point difference. You are not going to spread yourself too thin at all. By the time you get level 25-35 your going to be quite powerful.

My level 48 Orc has 2-handed, 5 points in block, enchanting n blacksmithing maxed, 4 points in restoration, 6 points in sneak, all of Marksman..and I still have 33 points to use, if I get to level 80.

The quest is called Book of Love. The quest is given by Dinya Balu in Riften Temple of Mara.

The reward is 15% resistance to magic. It is a nice bonus, I make it a priority to get this buff asap along with the one from the temple of Dibella in Markarth for 10% more damage.
