What Parthurnaax is to you?
How do you feel towards Parthurnaax? What compels you to spare his life from the cruel fate demanded by the Blades? What makes you show compassion towards Parthurnaax?

What. Is. Parthurnaax. To. YOU

I feel he's good. What compels me? The power of Christ compels me! That he's changed his ways completely, and that Delphine is an idiot. He's a good guy.

Parthurnaax is a great mentor and excellent ally, and I feel the blades were too rash in demanding I kill him.

I personaly really like Parthurnaax, One he is wise, Two he is a dragon. I even installed a mod where you can spare his life from the blades, while still completing the quest.

Yoda. Besides, I have the mod "Paarthurnax Dilemma". Fixes that writing mistake on Bethesda's behalf.

He's not inherently bad, at least not anymore. He did some questionable things in the past, but I believe people can change.

I like Parthunaax. On my second playthrough I killed him because I was trying to deliberately do things I personally wouldn't do (it was essentially an 'evil' Gaweyne playthrough). He doesn't put up much of a fight if you choose to fight him. He mostly just Yol'd Lydia (knowing in his infinite Parthunaax wisdom that Lydia cannot die). That clinched it for me. He was never out to save his scales but really did take pity on teh humans. And if it was his fate for Dragonborn to eat his soul, he doesn't resist.

Delphine for the lose. I fus ro dah'd Delphine off High Hroghgar in my last playthrough as an answer to her ultimatum. I intend to do the same as soon as I get back to the Peace Council on this playthrough.

I like the old dragon, but that alone doesn't make me spare his, or anyone else's, life. In his case, I feel he's been working to redeem himself in the good he's done since the bad times of his past, and I feel Delphine and Esbern are holding a grudge wanting him dead for killing the Blades that came before them, and aren't being open-minded enough in looking at the total picture. All make mistakes, but he's turned away from his previous ways and has long been and currently on a good path. To me, that doesn't warrant a death sentence.

I agree with everyone else who has chosen to spare Parthurnaax. The Blades are supposed to follow the Dragonborn and serve him/her as the Dragonborn continues to protect humanity from evil. To deny that purpose, that raison d'etre, is to go against what they have stood for. Slaying an ally just for some misguided reason--i.e. because Parthurnaax committed crimes against the people whom many dragons considered inferior to them--is wrong, especially when that ally in particular has chosen the path of redemption to atone for past sins.
