Moving your family/Lost child

I'm trying to move my family from Breezehome to the home in Solitude (the one you get a thane), and I'm not sure how to do it, or even IF i can. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone could help.

Also, I somehow lost one of my children...what do I do?

About the lost child I have no idea except loading an older save. Moving you just speak to your spouse about moving to any property you own.

Make sure that you have finished the house, especially the children's room. The kids won't show up in any case if they don't have a place to sleep, even in Hearthfire. Are you married? If you are, asking your wife to move will bring the children along automatically. Be sure to make a manual/hard save, quick saves etc don't count, before trying. Having the wife move may cause the game to cough up the missing one, because kids in the game are immortal. Bethesda doesn't want anyone killing kids in Skyrimso he/she should still be alive, possibly just in a closed but unlocked room. Followers, NPCs sometimes don't have the sense to open doors, just wait patiently until someone does it for them, or until the game recycles them out. But that can take weeks.

Firstly Before even moving You Need to tell them spouse / children " I'd like us to move" they should say where, and you say to your house in so n so, if its your spouse, you should be able to stick her or him on follow and fast ravel, the kids may already be there if theyre've said ok will meet you there , and if you lose one could be its just taking a day or so game time to travel, they are only kids after all, and may dawdle, but if they still dont show, look the kids ref id and use console command player.moveto id number the hit enter, an just walk / run with the rest of teh way ^^veiw the country side if all else fails, reload to a save before you move and Tell them

thanks for all the insight. But one thing, I'm not talking about plots of land. I'm meaning moving from Breezehome to solitude or windhelm, etc.

and that text doesnt pop up for the kids.

and are you saying that if I just tell serana we're moving, she'll automattically take the kids?--that would be great!

if not, that text option still isnt there.

as to the saves, i am at like 1200+ save files, but when i scroll to the bottom, it's only about 300-ish. (if any of that holds any weight to the discussion)
