Archery / bow / sprinting mouse speed has different X and Y sensitivity

Hello!

I have seen a number of threads discussing this issue over the years since Skyrim was released. So far there have been no solutions. When using the bow or sprinting, the X / horizontal mouse speed is much slower than the Y / vertical axis. When zooming in, and especially when slowing down time, it becomes far more exaggerated. This makes archery quite difficult, as one could imagine. Here are several threads on the subject:

Unfortunately, it does not apply to me as my computer is nowhere near powerful enough to achieve the FPS required for my general X/Y sensitivity to be off. The issue only manifests when the bow is drawn. Is there anyone out there with a fix for this? Thank you so much Steam community, you guys and gals are amazing!

Just a small update to say that I just tested the game out on my PS3 and did not notice the same issue. It would appear that this is not the default behavior.

I've never noticed this myself. According to the last link you gave, the issue only occurs when the game goes over 60 fps. If that's the case then you shouldn't even be experiencing the issue if you are under 60 fps. And that would explain why I've never noticed it, and why it's not an issue on consoles.

Are you sure you are having the same issue?

Sorry about that, the last link was a bit misleading! It is a similar issue, but not the actual issue that I am experiencing.

The other links I listed do a bit better job at explaining it. Essentially, whenever the bow is used the X/Y aiming sensitivity (affects both mouse and gamepad) become severely different. If the Eagle Eye and Steady Hand 1 & 2 are all applied, the effect becomes much worse. In any other situation, regardless of weapon, or even when not in combat, there is no issue at all. It only manifests during archery.

I am currently in the process of reinstalling Skyrim from scratch, and I will update this post if there are any changes, or if the issue persists.

Just got finished with a totally clean re-install from scratch. I deleted all mods, uninstalled Skyrim, deleted all Steam files, and removed all user preferences/saved games folders. Started a new game and after getting a bow, I gave myself Eagle Eye and Steady Hand 1 and 2, and I am still having the same problem. Any other ideas?

Update: It appears that this issue also affects sprinting, which means that has an effect on anything that alters look speed. I've updated the OP to reflect this.

This is a Mod that does exactly what you are looking for. Tested it while using the bow and the sensitivity is equal on both axis.
