Help Figuring out Argonian Age
I have done Research on how long Argonians can possibly live and what age one may be when starting a game like Skyrim or Oblivion.

My guess is that they may be one of the longest living races to exist.
Reasons:
1) In the lore of the Elder Scrolls world it seems Magica helps slow the aging process granting longevity; on the Day of Naming a hatching argonian licks/drinks of the Hist Sap from hist trees thus causing them to enter a humanoid form, and granting them gender. This magical Sap infuses itself with the Argonian. Leading me to believe they are a magical being.

2) As argonians age they can convert genders many times over their lifetime, it doesn’t say when or how this happens but I think is has something to do with the Hist Sap. Also when they change genders their name has to change to match as their native tongue of Jei as different meanings for male and female.

3) The natural immunities of Argonians to diseases and poison lead me to think that they generally stay healthy over their whole lifespan, meaning that death would normally befall them if slain in combat, or a natural cause: falling to death, crushed under rubble, alchemy lab explosions ext.

4) In argonian religion they believe that the Hist tree has given them their souls and that when they die, their souls are returned to the Hist to be reincarnated as a new Argonian. They feel a connection to the Hist when in Black Marsh, but this diminishes with distance. When an Argonian makes physical contact with a Hist tree, it may communicate with them through visions. This communication can be about past lives I think; and if that makes their soul immortal then should they be classified with the Dova or Daedra? Even Sheogorath has to be reborn every Era because of the Grey-march, hence the passing of his title from himself to himself from time to time.

so with all this information about argonians and their religion and natural physiology what then is the normal age for an argonian, or an average lifespan many places I have looked say how they live longer then humans but how much longer is a good guess i could see them based off this information living as long or longer then Mer.

some other Side notes
the Argonian tongue has no real sense of past or future other then recent as in that person's life time. They rarely if ever talk about the past other then actual experiences.

the written history of the Eras is that the Mythic era when Men and Mer settled the world was 2500 years from ME2500 counting down to 1E1 First era first year
the First Era lasted from 1E1-1E2920 or 2920 years with the founding of the Cyrodiil Empire
the 2nd Era was 2E1-2E896 The Second Era begins when the Reman line of Cyrodiilic Emperors is assassinated.
the Third Era is 3E1-3E433 This Era began when Tiber Septim united all of Tamriel under the banner of the Empire and the Septim Dynasty begins in 3E433 Martin Became the Embodiment of Atatosh
the Fourth Era is 4E1-4E201(edit thanks to_________________) this Era is When Skyrim takes place at the start of the 3rd century which begins (and ends) with the Dragon Crisis

In 3E 396, during the Imperial Simulacrum, a slave revolt escalated into the Dunmer instigating the Arnesian War with Black Marsh and taking a significant amount of territory (and undoubtedly many new slaves)

In the aftermath of the Red Year (4E 6), the Argonians invaded Morrowind, in an event called the Accession War. The war was used by the Argonians both to exact revenge on the Dunmer for their past enslavement of Argonians, and to conquer territories lost in the Arnesian War.

Now my Theory is that without a way to talk about the past other then Life Experiences the Argonians of the Accession war were either one of two types of Argonians, Hatch-lings that existed in 3E396, or Adults from the same time. This is the only Piece of time evidence I have to say that this is a 43 year span of time. so its safe to say that at the youngest an argonian would live about 50 years or so

All my Information was gathered from the UESP Wiki and the Elderscrolls.Wikia

So if you read through all of that what is your opinion of Argonian age?

doesnt help with my question but thanks, they are my fav race and i love to use them. but im wanting to write about one and with no true lifespan I cant fully tell a story about him

see i was guessing in a range like that but once I learned about their soul Rebirthing and that they retain the memory of past lives or atleast part of the memory. the Memory retaining only happens if the Argonian can make contact with a Hist tree. so now I think they may have Smaller lifespands just that the life span is for their body and not soul

You have put a lot of thought in this. I am guessing we can assume you are one of the few authorities on the subject. So why not tell us how long you think they can live.

that and their Gender Swapping that gives them a new name and Idinity is weird
at birth they have No gender what so ever then after the day of naming they gain a gender male or female then some time at the mid point of life they swap genders

Now that'll make things pretty interesting with Keerava and Talen-Jei. Would they both switch?

Fascinating original post, by the way.

in my total guess I would say one argonian mortal body last for around 200 years; as they live more then man who has a life of nearly 100 years.
at mid age they have a gender swap and near the end of their life they start to develop almost white/clear scales when they do die, their soul returns to the Hist. Then it is Reborn as a new argonian hatchling waiting to recive a new gender and name.
when in direct physical contact with a Hist Tree the Argonian gains a far ammount of knowlage from all its past lives. again this is my guess

yea it is something to think about, you marry a girl argonian just before her transformation and afterwards she becomes a boy talk about a change of relations

does anyone else have any input on what they think of argonian age? Im interested to listen to others theorize over our favorate lizard race

im trying to research in the games where an argonian tells you about history or the past, that may be a clue to linking how old it may be

Regular reptiles can live up to 100 years so if you're comparing it to real life to then it'd be around 100 years.

thats counts only the natural health what about the untatural way that magica extends life, at a young age argonians eat Hist sap that infuses them with magic

Exellent work. Just gotta ruin this though, Altmer live for a max of 1,000 years and many in game Dunmer were alive during the red mountain eruption. Meaning they can't be the longest living race.

Dragons are immortal, so obviously the elves are the oldest race.
