Life of a Dunmer Necroarcher
So this is the thread I was talking about in one of the posts I made in Skyrimnut's 1001 Ways to Die thread in which the thread was about the adventures of an Altmer mage, Lilithia, in Skyrim. Skyrimnut has inspired me to do a thread like that one, and this is what I came up with--thanks to Skyrimnut for the inspiration. Here is some information concerning my character:

1) Name: Serenity T’rizis
2) Race: Dunmer
3) Age: 20
4) Personality: Spunky, Funny, Adventurous, Intelligent, Cunning
5) Appearance: Long black hair; normal Dunmer Eyes; pretty; slender form
6) Background:

Originally from Cyrodiil, she snuck over the border into Skyrim when the Thalmor nearly discovered her presence in the city of Anvil where she had been living in the old Benirus Manor utilizing Lorgren Benirus’ necromancy lab for her own work. Never that competent of a navigator, but also a free spirited adventurer who would rather go where the flow took her, she decided to just keep heading north until she wound up in Skyrim. She discovered another hideout just on the coast of Lake Ilinalta where she has been residing for some time and has chosen to make it her permanent home, but she still yearns for adventure. Thus she decided to explore this new land with a map she found in the hideout so she can find trinkets to decorate her new home.

7) Class: Necroarcher
8) Weapons: Ebony Bow w/ Ebony Arrows
9) Armor: Raven Witch Armor (mod of the same name)
10) Primary Skills: Archery, Restoration, Light Armor, Sneak, Conjuration, Illusion

Here is a screenshot of my character:

Disclaimer:

If any of these mods won't likely show up in this playthrough, I shall have them removed from the list. If I get more mods and I think they'll go well with the playthrough, I shall add them to the list.

I'd also like to give credit to the respective creators of all these mods. I've not asked them for permission to include their mods because that would take too long since the list is long, but if any of them request I remove their mods from this playthrough, I shall comply by removing them from the list and the playthrough as well.

Edit: Some mods are grouped together on this list because they go together despite being available in separate mods and are by the same mod creator. I'm also adding some more mods to the list.

I hope you enjoy reading through this thread about my playthrough with this character.

Dunmers are fun to play. Once I played as the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ son of Divayth Fyr. Lived in Fyr manor and had the field lab mod. It was very fun.

Those Madfrenchie mods are something, aren't they? I've done the entire Cyrodiil series. Great stuff.

What was your alternate start choice?

Looks good, BelphegorATS. Can't wait. Maybe you can knock Skyrimnut off her high horse. ;-) (haha, that was just a joke)

Interesting suggestion, MrBLANKs, with that Ritual Steel mod. Never would have guessed that's what that mod did.

The witch armor is the same armor venturian used in skyrim tale.

You never would have guessed a mod that says "Ritual Steel - Reanimation Enchantment" was used for raising the dead?

That does look like a good idea. I may try that sometime in the near future. Thanks.

Nope, I thought it was for something else I guess. I never connected it with a bow that could shoot arrows that raise the dead. Thought it had something to do with a ritual of some kind in the game, at a certain point or under certain circumstances, and never gave it another thought.

Something like "Enchant Weapons and Projectiles to Raise the Dead" would have been more helpful to me.

What was your alternate start choice?

Yeah, MadFrenchie does make some good mods. I particularly like the Snake Pit and the Hawk's Nest. Those two are my favorite.

The alternate start choice I selected was being a necromancer in a secret location. That option can place you in a random location just like some of the other options if I'm correct. I ended up in Sindarion's field lab in Blackreach when I started getting Serenity ready for the playthrough. I used a console command to take her to Riverwood so I could level up her stats via the Max Skill Stones for Each Skill mod at the Guardian Stones. Then I simply went into the testing room to get the spells she'd use and enchant the ebony bow with paralyze and soul trap.

Instead of sticking with the alternate start method of beginning a character, I'm using the mod to go through the process faster instead of going through the opening sequence at Helgen. I felt it was too long in my opinion, so I decided to give Arthmoor's mod a try and it works quite well at what it's meant for. I did make another character to use for this kind of thread, one whom shall be using the alternate start method to some extent while also having some backstory behind her, but I opted for Serenity this time. I'll probably get around to my other character sometime after this thread is done.

The reasoning behind choosing to play as a Dunmer with this character was largely because I wanted to recreate her so that she would have a surname as I had once read in another thread that someone gave Bosmer surnames based on things in nature. I was inspired to do that, but I chose to go for surnames that were already established in the series. Serenity is of Dunmer heritage, but I also want to define who she is as a character as well.

Day One:

Serenity finally found a home to call her own--well, at least now that she has "immigrated" from the neighboring province of Cyrodiil. All things considering, this could turn out very well as she's now living out in the middle of nowhere instead of a big city where her day to day activities at home could be discovered by anyone. Best of all, this place has its own undergound home with a necromancy chamber! The previous occupant, a member of the Dark Brotherhood whom Serenity "purchased" the home from, has been taken care of and now the joint is all hers. Life couldn't get much sweeter than this. She believes it was a good thing she fled Anvil when the Thalmor were becoming a nuisance; having them break into the Benirus Manor while she was busy raising the dead she "found" in the city's graveyard wouldn't please the residents there, now would it? In any case, she is enjoying the home and loves the bedroom and necromancy chamber. Even the crypt looks good even though she may not use it that much.

Serenity stood on the dock and contemplated the contents of a few letters she received from a courior who had the gall to disturb her while moving in. He ran fast to make more deliveries after handing over her mail. Too bad he's gone; he would've made a great thrall and a pincusion as well if she wanted to use him for target practice.

She smiled and sheepishly shook her her head, somewhat embarrased that she was already daydreaming, a habit of hers she picked up during her particular trade. The letters did look pretty important, so she looked through one at a time.

The first one took her by surprise; how did this "Jarl of Falkreath" know her? Serenity merely passed by the city proper because she flipped a septim to decide if she would see the city. This Siddgeir obviously seemed to regard her as a heroine because her supposed "deeds" in the province were well known. What deeds? She hadn't done anything yet, other than find this home! She initially thought it to be a mistake, but the letter was addressed to her. No matter, she'd get to the bottom of this and clear this little mistake in Falkreath later.

Next came a letter from a Mandyn Hlaalu, another Dunmer who seemed to be in quite a predicament over at the Sleeping Giant Inn in nearby Riverwood. Who was this guy, and how did he know her too? Was there some sort of conspiracy against her or something?! One coincidence can be a mere accident; two seems like a pattern. She'll figure this out later as well to see if it really is just a coincidence (if she's being paranoid), or a conspiracy (if she's right). Hopefully Serenity will prove herself wrong, otherwise she may have to find a new home in another province. Maybe Hammerfell would be good since the province still resists against the Thalmor leading the Aldmeri Dominion.

Finally was a simple flyer for a museum opening up over in Dawnstar, dedicated to the Mythic Dawn, a Daedric cult that worshipped Mehrunes Dagon and was responsible for the assassinations of the remaining Septim dynasty members, save for Martin Septim who pretty much became an avatar of Akatosh. This was for the Daedric Prince of Destruction; Serenity wasn't that religious, but she did respect Azura. This museum seemed like a stupid idea, so she'd ignore it--or do the people of Dawnstar a favor by "hiring" him as a thrall.

She did some exploring for a bit and came upon a nearby cave she didn't bother to explore since somebody was already sitting outside. Hey, his cave, his discovery.

She was also attacked by some follower of another Daedric Prince, Boethia. His soul filled that black soul gem she had, but she didn't bother to raise him from the dead. She was already getting tired anyway, what with the move into her new home.

Oh, and Serenity had also found a house where two hunters lived. They had some cute bows and they gave one to her for free. She loved this new bow.

As it was getting dark--and boy, the views of the sky and Lake Ilinalta were truly breathtaking--Serenity went back home for a good night's sleep.

Completely new? What? It's just another gloriously named cheat in my book...

um.. Staff of Dread Zombies, Staff of Reanimation, Staff of Revenants, Staff of Zombies, and you can do all that with conjuration spells. Raise Zombie, Reanimate (there's that word again) Corpse, Revenant, and everybody's favourite - Dead Thrall.

Day Two:

After a good stretch with a light breakfast, Serenity decided it was time for some more exploring in the area around her home. She had taken to calling it the Snake Pit, a name she thought of earlier that morning while still asleep and dreaming of all the adventures she was going to have in Skyrim. She was looking forward to what was new and what was exciting.

A brief swim across Lake Ilinalta brought Serenity to the property known as Half-Moon Mill. She chatted with the lady in front of the house, noting she was a vampire. It was pure daylight out! Wasn't this vampire going to burn in the sun?! Serenity wasn't too fond of a vampire neighbor, so she made it seem like she was passing by and immediately found a hiding spot just several feet away to snipe the vampire with her Reaper's Bow, an enchanted ebony bow she made several years ago. Then she decided to try raising the vampire from the dead, a feat she never tried to do before because she wasn't sure if it would work. Success! The vampire lady comes back to life as a thrall just as well as a human being. Serenity rejoiced in her accomplishment and went further into the surrounding area with her new thrall.

She came upon a camp where an alchemist seemed to be residing. Serenity stole a look at the journal left behind (and stole the journal while she was at it). Apparently the alchemist wanted to investigate how mushrooms and nirnroot were affecting the ecosystem here. She found him--or rather, what was left of him--in a little grove just ahead; looks like he won't be needing that journal anymore. She did a little investigating herself while the vampire thrall fought a couple mudcrabs that decided to kick Serenity off their property.

This grove is just so lovely! The recently slain spriggans and the slain bear (all by her hands with her bow from atop a perch she sniped them from) aside, this grove could very well be a perfect camping spot, much better than the spot just up the hill. If only the alchemist set up camp here instead of there; he'd have a much better view to wake up to every morning.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=304214958

There was also a big burial plot close by. It was so big and perfect that Serenity daydreamed of excavating it for some more corpses to raise. This was a spot she'd remember, so she set down a mark on her map to return there some time when in need of corpses to resurrect. She decided to save this plot for when she truly needed it if there weren't any dead around.

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=304214938

Heading a bit deeper into the region, Serenity stumbled upon a ritual site where a fellow necromancer was practicing her art. Serenity didn't like the idea of having competition so close to the Snake Pit, so she swiftly ended the necromancer's training session for good. Further punishment involved bringing her back from the dead as a thrall--a necromancer as another necromancer's thrall; the thought made Serenity laugh as she made her way to the road to check out an ambushed wagon. She guessed the necromancer she just raised was behind it; hopefully she'd be a better thrall than the vampire lady who probably lost to one of the mudcrabs from before. Vampires could make good thralls, but they could also be just as useless as the human thralls of those who were supposedly weaker than them.

I've got to agree with you there because that enchantment is quite exclusive to staves and some spells in the Conjuration school--i.e. the ones that deal with necromancy-- as far as the vanilla game goes. This mod appears to expand upon that by broadening the scope of that by making the enchantment applicable to other weapons as well in addition to adding a new bow with the enchantment in place on it. I said before that I may give it a try, so I'll give it some thought until Serenity begins "The Man Who Cried Wolf", which is when I shall make my decision regarding whether I'll get the mod or not.

She doesn't have to be so young you know. A lot of Dunmer in skyrim where alive during the red mountain eruption.Altmer live for 1,000 years maximum, so Dunmer must have the same life span if not shorter.
Skyrimnut Aug 22 @ 6:18pm
Neat beginning. She definitely has a personality. A necromancer dead thralling a necromancer. Hahaha. When I had a play through that dead thralled, I did Estormo. He was good.

Boethia cultist? What is she, level 30?

You know, if you want to make it all officially Skyrimy, you can check the date on the bottom right of the screen. You don't have to, just thought I'd make the suggestion.

I know she respects Azura, but you've got the mod Path of the Divines? Has she accepted the Divines? That would be very interesting if a Dunmer who practiced necromancy did quests for the divines. Unless it was a cover or you just forgot you had the mod, lol. I know Erandur and Dinya Balu worship the Lady Mara, so it's not ureasonable for a Dunmer to be converted and Serinity is from Cyrodiil, but neither of them are necromancers.

Conjuration spells, conjuration staves.
And staves aren't a seperate class, since they are just ways to make spells not use magicka. They are still technically just spells that can't be dual casted. Quite a few, if not most of the spells in the game can be turned into a staff on solstiem.
And, again, those are spells. Normal form drains magicka, staff form drains souls. These drain souls too, just on a weapon, so it happens as soon as you kill someone. Really, how is it a cheat?
