Can you Kill Maven Black Briar?

Hello all,

I wanted to know if it was possible to kill maven black briar and still be a thane of riverrun?

Or will killing her be breaking the game in a whole mess of ways?

I wouldn't try that if I were you. However, there's a great mod where you can get her (eventually) exiled. That was so very satisfying. It's aptly called - Destroy the Thieves Guild.

What does killing Maven have to do with being a thane of Riverrun ? Where does Riverrun lie ?
Maven is also required for quests from the thieves guild.

You can probably kill her safely after the Thieve's Guild questline is complete and the Civil War is finished in favor of the Stormcloaks ( total Imperial removal ). There are mods that will remove her ``essential'' tag to make it possible no matter where you are in the game quest wise.

If you dont mind ruining the Thieves Guild questline (I know I don't) you can use an .ini tweak to turn off essentail status from the game. Just turn it off, kill whoever you want the save and turn it back on.

You can use console commands to make her unessential too.
setessential 19DD1 <0>

Nope, if you kill her you won't be screwed with Riften. Instead, Dark Brotherhood may be after you to claim your life.
