Why [according to the dialogue options] is the Dragonborn not the B4D455 that he Get otshould be?
When you talk to people. the Dragonborn doesn't seem to live up to his title. When you think "Dovahkiin", you think of this B4D455 holding two tomahawks on top of a dragon's dead corpse. When you talk to people in casual conversation, he talks like a normal person, not how people would envision someone with as big of title as him.

Even when he's being threatened, he doesn't don the attitude of "I'm dragonborn, I eat dragons' souls for a living. Get out of my way or I'll eat your soul and skip rope with your intestines", but instead when threatened he basically says "Hey, what's it to you, pal?"
Even when intimidating people, he doesn't even swear, which I thought was one essential of intimidating people. When you think "Convincing through scaring someone into submission" you think "Get out of my way, or I'm going to tear out your ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ heart and eat it!" not "Give me the item, or else"

I think dovahkiin should be more of a badass, not act like a typical townfolk during conversation.

Dovahkiin during combat is cool doe, but it's be cool if he yelled out threats at the opponent like the bandits do.

In combat dialogue/threats would break the immersion. it's supposed to feel like that YOU are the dragonborn, if you make actually make him/her talk, it would not feel right.

I love a good swear, but frankly if you can't intimidate someone without swearing, adding swear words won't suddenly make you scary. Also, generally speaking, I don't think the dialogue options are necessarily meant to be verbatim what she would say, just a general suggestion (like how in The Walking Dead the option you click on might be 'drop it' and Lee's actual line is 'come on, this is ridiculous, let it go') of the tone of the reply and you can imagine your own actual lines.

(Psst. Don't look now, but I see a badger. If we find cookies, then maybe it does not run away... :)

*Ahem*
This coming from someone who swears way too much (bad habit...).

The more that visiting badbutt is spitting out swears at the bar, the less worried and more annoyed I become. It is just ridiculous.

Guys who others should actually be vary of are the ones having nothing to proof. They know who they are and what they can do. Those guys are usually more polite and well mannered than you regular louts, until something goes wrong and it is either time to call it for the night.

Each Dragonborn is of course his/her own. My own fellas are rather modest about it. Either it is an career breaking annoyance (thief) or stealing part of the glory (fighter.) Only my mage character ever truly embraced his fait as the last Dragonborn, learning all the shouts and using them constantly.

I always laugh when I slay a dragon and then some thief wants my money (holdup) I mean I just slayed a dragon devoured its soul do you really think it's a wise decision to rob me?

That's.... the most on-topic comment I've seen in a long time.

That's also where pretention sets in though. Not as much if it's subtle, though.

Absolutely right in my experience. The toughest and best fighters I know don't talk or act tough because they don't need to. They can really hurt someone badly so they don't want to fight, but watch out if you attack them!

As the Dragonborn, you don't need validation from guards or ordinary people. It would be sickening if everyone bowed to you as you walked by. Having the respect of other dragons and the ear of the gods themselves should be enough. Besides, it's good to be treated like a normal person, be careful what you wish for! How tiresome would it get if you were mobbed everytime you went outside and had people following you around, documenting everything you did? I bet that'd get old really fast.

I'm not saying he needs to be a hard-♥♥♥ like duke nukem, I'm saying that he's too subtle, given his great gift. FFS, Random people blurt out swear words walking by them, especially in Riften. The dragonborn doesn't even say one. He could if he wanted to, he actually would have power if he only did it once in the game, since when people who don't swear often swear, you know they mean business. Dovahkiin not doing that, and almost seeming like kind of a push-over by not being assertive is kind of disappointing. He's a badass, don't get me wrong, but he should be the badassest of the badass. After all, Dovahkiin come once every couple centuries.

Remember Megaton and Freeside?

"Hey, you're the guy the King said who helped people"
Mister E Aug 19 @ 6:47am
swearing doesn't make the man. but it would be cool if randomly some of those bandits recognized you and ran away, or there was a chance that after using a shout, some enemies would surrender.

that said, please tell me there is a mod that turns all the shouts into swear words... :)

I got called a milkdrinker the other day by an Orc on the road. I apologized to him. He had no clue I had slaughtered hundreds of bunnies. Felt good.
