Hell No. Isn't there E.S. online? I never play it, but isn't that like Skyrim online? Skyrim offers a world were u don't have to deal w/ everyone else. Online would kill that.

I played ESO for around 100 hours. It's not an Elder Scrolls game. It pisses on everything that Elder Scrolls is, including gameplay and lore.

It is a voiced World of Warcraft with an Elder Scrolls skin attached to it.

You also can ask this question: Why the f..... must have every game an online mode? It is very hard to do due the 1000 different mod players use. It could only work without any mods and even then there is the question of dlc and no dlc etc.

Take 4 players, take one computer, and take alternating turns. Voila, multiplaying.

Mods or Online? I'll take mods tyvm. If I want to play an MMO I will open up WoW.

Okay, let's talk seriously for a second.
First of all, "multiplayer" isn't terribly specific. Multiplayer can be (in this genre, but is not limited to): Oldschool split-screen coop, Online coop, or MMO. I have a feeling the OP is referring to MMO, so we'll talk about that.

1. Servers. Hosting a barebones server isn't pricey (iirc), however hosting a multitude of them? That's a small fortune that wouldn't be doable without charging people money to play this mod. That's problematic because in the world of Skyrim modding, we try to make things free. They may not be open for stealing, but they're (for the most part) free to use. Donations may help, but if this theoretical multiplayer mod gets big, it'll probably need more than that.

2. General annoyances of people. This is a really opinionated thing of mine. I don't want to get called a "noob" or some crap every 20 seconds. I don't want to be spammed with friend or trade requests and for gosh sakes get me away from people. Period.

3. Bethesda. I have a feeling that our mother company may not appreciate us creating a multiplayer mod. Because it might detract from ESO sales and subscriptions and honestly Skyrim is a better game, so I can forsee that.

4. Coding. Holy FRICK that's a lot of programming. Very few people have time or patience or care enough for this task.

5. Almost anyone who has wanted this has moved on to ESO or is planning on moving over.

But OP, I'm not trying to crush your dreams. If you'd like to work on this project, more power to you. Just don't try to throw this task on others.
