Skyrim Startup Problems On Windows 8.1
Hey guys. First, of all, here's what is happening. If it tries to detect my video hardware and set the settings, when I click OK it crashes the launcher. But when I try to just lauch the game, it loads in a black screen, then it go to another blackscreen, then it crashes. With No Error Message. I tried uninstalling, Vertifiying The Files, etc...

Does anyone know a fix? Please? I really waht to play this amazing game.

EDIT 1:

You guys want my specs. Fair enough.

CPU: Intel I5 3570k @ 3.5 GHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 670 Non OC
OS: Windows 8.1

Thanks for the advice.

EDIT 2:

Alright. Aura Nightfox fixed it. Here's how to fix.

1. Download this: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34970
2. Locate Your Skyrim Folder. Should be like C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\ Steam\ SteamApps\ Skyrim
3. Open the downloaded file.
4. Put the downloaded file in the skyrim folder.
5. Dont forget to "Replace This File".

THANKS BRO

Do you have the proper video drivers for your GPU?
If you're running beta or alpha drivers, you can try to downgrade to a stable driver.

Also, specifications and any modifications would be helpful. I'm running Skyrim on 8.1 and am facing no problems.
tell us your specs of your PC if you put your specs up for us we can determine how to help you :)

The only change is the fact that it boots up only one black screen.

Your specs shouldn't be the issue. My Nvidia card is about 5 times weaker than your card and my processor is a bit weaker and older than yours.

What Nvidia driver version are you running? You can find this by going to your Nvidia Control panel then clicking "System information" in the lower left hand corner.
