I need advice with the Civil War (spoilers maybe?)
Well, i've spent the past bunch of hours doing sidequests and what not and the only "story-ish" mission so far being the greybeards telling me to get some horn

While doing some side stuff i wind up having the choice to go either imperial or stormcloak, however, i'm stalling my decision because:

I'm still kinda bitter that the empire wanted to kill me for no real good reason other than "because you're in the wrong place at the wrong time", I heard all the "oppresive" stuff the empire has done and well... overall I got the idea they are not very good-ish

While heading to the sotmcloaks however... I saw Ulfic saying things along the lines of attacking whiterun and destroying it wich isn't good and i'm not sure i want to support since whiterun feels like... home...

So... What advice can you guys give me? wich decision can benefit or come back to bite me later on?

Gameplay-wise, they're the same. They have the same benefits and drawbacks. They have quests that are nearly the same. The only major difference between the two is the last couple of quests and the end of the questline, but the only post-war changes are that two cities end up with ruined towers and other decorations and new guards and Jarls.

Full list of postwar changes include:
If you're on the Imperial side, Ulfric and his second-in-command will be dead. Imperial guards will preside over all of the holds and cities. Windhelm will have some non-gameplay altering ruins.

If you're on the Stormcloak side, Tullius and Rikke will be dead. Stormcloak soldiers will guard every city and hold. Solitude will have some non-gameplay altering ruins.

For either side, Whiterun will have some non-gameplay altering ruins and you may get addressed differently depending on the side you choose.

If your looking for more of a punch to the Civil War story arc then there are mods for that

but everything my friend stated is exactly what you are going to get in the game

If your in for the longrun, As in you plan on doing a bunch of quests, like hundreds, Pick a side. Honestly I feel as though It's the only quest that really changes the game except Walking Nightmare and the DB quest Line Poor,Poor, Disabialed Narfi . Hold Guards seem to be the Only guys with ears these days anyway. Let's try not to turn this into as much as a Imp vs Ulfric's Boys Discussion as it can be.

Gameplay wise, bother are pretty much the same. Side with the Stormcloaks, the Stormcloaks will prevail, and vice versa.

It doesn't really matter who you side with, because Ulfric was in cahoots with the Thalmor at some point, you can find a dossier on him that claims that they interrogated him and is listed as "uncooperative." It is unknown if he is a Thalmor spy, however the Thalmor claim he's an asset. Given with this the fact that the Empire has ties to the Thalmor as well, there's no right or wrong decision.

Regardless, I always side with the Empire. Just because I don't feel like Skyrim shouldn't be a part of it just because they don't want to be. I don't agree with everything the Empire has done (like banning Talos worship, although I think that's because of the Thalmor) but I don't like the Stormcloaks at all.

I thought Ulfric was considered an asset because if he won, the Thalmor would have an easier time taking over Skyrim due to the collapse of the Empire?

On the intro scene. Remember Lokir told Ralof to tell the Imperials that he wasn't with them. He was on the list, though, probably because of his thieving. However, the player character wasn't, and maybe Ralof could have spoken up for you?
Therefore, I think of the general Stormcloak position as "Hey, if the great Ulfric is going to die then we might as well all die with him."
It seems like a personality cult to me.

Use the console codes to set Ulfric and Tallius as "killable" early-on in game, and give those two a good "up-theirs" ... then remove that useless Elisif from her "chair" ... after that, name yourself the "High King" or "High Queen" of Skyrim ...
... kill all Thalmor s'kuums ... sadly, despite they are s'kuumers, they don't drop skooma.
... and drink skooma daily ... it is good for your health, just like "hashish".
