Re-installing basic Skyrim
Last year, downloaded a mod to Skyrim named Enderal (real good mod BTW). Although it was a stand-alone mod, you had to have basic Skyrim installed because it used some of their files.

Late in the year, I deleted both the mod and Skyrim, thinking I wasn't going to play either one again.

Now, I'm trying to get back into basic Skyrim. I've downloaded it twice, but when I hit play, I hear the music, my screen goes to a light purple/blue-ish color, and the game doesn' load.

I've searched for and deleted all Enderal files (including hidden files), and since I never got into the game, no mods were running/added. Also, the only way to stop it from running is stopping it through the Task Master.

Maybe it's because I deleted both games, instead of uninstalling them?

Could the problem be in the registry? If so, advise and how and where to look would be appreciated.

Any other ideas/help is appreciated.

NOTE: If you played Enderal, did you find the spaceship? That was quite a surprise.

Thanks

You dont seem to own skyrim
Do you have it on a console (if so, which one?) or pc

If he had Enderal he had a PC version which was not legit to begin with. The coffee club members will not help you and neither would I since, well I pay fer my games, and I don't know anything about making pirated games work since I do not use them. Hell, I wouldn't even know where to look for them.

Probably not from Steam though.
Could be that your game is synced to the cloud.

There is no such thing as a non-Steam version of Skyrim.

Why we can't help with a pirated Game:
"You do not have official version of the game and you can't use proper unofficial patches to fix issues from the game.

We can't parse your game, due to it not being a legal version that could be validated from the server. We can't give any reliable recommendations to fixes either, due to your game not using up to date and intact executable.

At the top of that, anyone helping you would risk getting banned from the forum by supporting a pirated game.

I can't see how anyone could help you here."

@ BOT Ralph.

Thank you very much for your help. It worked like a charm. I still have to download and install the two DLCs I have, but that can wait for another day or two.

Further down that page you told me about, there was an entry about Purple or Black screen, and that was said to be caused by a texture issue. And that would have been my next step, had that first area not worked. Interesting though, I deleted quite a few subdirectories and files, but the CRC check put only 19 files back after it checked, but it runs fine now.

Thanks again for your help.
