Blades don't give you anymore quests anyway, they just point you at dragons, which is fine if you want the souls.
But if you kill Paarthurnax the greybeards won't tell you where the word walls are anymore.

Now for me, finding the word walls is harder than finding dragon souls. So I personally tell the blades that I will not be killing Paarthurnax, and goodbye.
Side note, I am not a servant for the blades, and they never bothered asking if I wanted to help them, so stuff the ungrateful little bleeders.

Kill Paarthurnax

Or, get one of the mods that allows the Blades quest to continue without killing him.

It is supposed to be a moral dilemma. Paarthurnax only has a 'word' focus that you can get from him, otherwise he does nothing the rest of the game.

I know where they all are, so I forget newer players might find this useful. ;)

I have the guide book, so I know where all the word walls and dragon nests are, but yeah, the greybeards can be very useful for new players.

I save Paarthurnax for personal ethic/moral reasons, he is a nice guy (ok, he's a nice dragon).

I agree.. depending on who I am. By level 10 or so I have established if I am a Bad Kitty.. or a Kitten. So all my choices get based around that.. tho' I had a Skooma / Bandit Lord once.. and she was just plain out bad. She would have stolen lolipops from babies if she could...

Nope, bad idea. NPC's that die are DEAD, even if they're brought back via console. There's a script run at the moment an NPC dies, so from then on, the game considers them dead.

I would leave Paarthurnax alive, for two reasons. The first is that he didn't have to give you knowledge of what Shout to use against Alduin, but he does it anyway, and in the process, he proves that most dragons are redeemable to a certain extent. The second reason is that I really dislike the fact that Delphine wants Paathurnax dead just because he's a dragon, especially since the Dragonborn is, technically speaking, another dragon.

"what is better, to be born good, or to overcome your evil nature through effort."- Paarthurnax. Personally, I couldn't bring myself to even unsheath my weapon in the thought of harming Paarthurnax. I feel as though he's truly repented and that he is more benificial to humanity alive then dead. He was the key to Alduin's Bane, and I feel he'll be left alive in the official lore.
