Disable DLC???
Is it possible to disable and enable DLC? I don't want to play any of the DLC [aside from Hearthfire] until I beat the main game?

And because I'm sure people might ask why I bothered buying the DLC if I don't want to use it, I didn't. I'm playing this game via Family Share.

Pretty sure before you launch the game, you can just uncheck the DLC tabs, as for why you'd want to do that is a bit strange, yet the game does run without them before, so why would not having them active be a problem to run the base game itself.

Well I also wanna disable it because I hear with the Dawnguard DLC, vampires can attack cities and villages. I don't wanna deal with that. Not just yet.

You can disable DLC through the launcher by clicking Data Files and unchecking the DLCs
HOWEVER!
If you already started a game with all the DLCs on, DO NOT LOAD THOSE SAVES! I never tried loading a save with a disabled DLC, but the results are probably chaotic.

And why would you want to disable them anyways?
Just ignore the DLC quests and you will be fine (To know which DLC quest is which, the Dawguard DLC is about vampires and to trigger you need to go to Fort Dawguard by yourself. In Dragonborn however, there is an event that is forced where you may get attacked by cultists but after reading their notes you can decide to go to an island or not. Basically just avoid them until you finish the main game. Its way better than risking your save file)

I mostly wanna disable it because I hear with the vampire DLC, vampires can attack cities and villages. I don't wanna deal with that. Not just yet.
Oh yeah. There are mods for that if you can and want to.

You mean to disable the vampire attacks or something? Cool. Are there any on Steam? I only know how to download mods on Nexus for Fallout New Vegas, unfortunately.

Downloading mods for Bethseda games are all the same. Drag and drop files into the Data folder (of course, always read the instructions of the mod first. It may be diffirent)

Although, i guess you can search the workshop and see if you can find any.

There's a mod called When Vampires Attack on Nexus.

http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/28235/? <- pretty handy, keeps most NPCs safe by having them run away when it happens and only the guards and such will engage.

There's also one for when dragons happen to attack.
