During the quest "Hitting The Books" You talk to Ol' Orc Guy and he tells you to get the first book!

Problem!
I already have the book!
And this guy won't accept the book!
What do I do?

In that quest, you aren't sent to find the books one at a time, you're meant to go out and get all three at once - as in, they're all found in the one room. Perhaps you should collect the full set.

I would try shouting in his Library and find out once and for all if he'll summons anrgy atronochs to tear you apart.

For the radiant quests in Fetch Me That Book, you have to go to the specified locations to get the book. That's the only thing that will satisfy the quest.

Let me know how shouting in his library works. I'm curious. Probably it will result in the "Re-joining the College" quest. I accidentally got J'Zargo killed on a mission and that's what happened to me.

Really? I went to the location as stated and it didn't register.
But I havn't played since the problem so maybe it's just a small bug.

Fetch Me That Book is different to Hitting The Books. Check your quest log if you're unsure which you're doing.

Is this really about the quest, where you have to get several books from fixed location, or one book from radiant location? This sounds like latter.

If so, then this is a known issue in the game and fixed in Unofficial Skyrim Patch. Get patches for your DLCs, while at it. Note that old patches are no longer getting new update, so if you ever buy HearthFire DLC, then swap entirely to merged (and still updated) Legendary Editon Patch.

USKP may not be able to fix the item, if it is already bugged in your inventory. If that happens, then do the following:
- Open console.
- Select your character through the console window with your mouse.
- Type showinventory and locate the ID of the book.
- Type player.drop "book ID" "quantity" to drop it. For example Arcana Restored would have command: drop 0001ACFE 1.
- Close console and pick the book from the floor. That should allow you to finish the quest.
