worth buing ?
hi everybody,

i visite the shop site of this game twice a day since a week, i'm realy interested in the mechanic. It looks "fresh" (i know it's a few years old now) and new to me. but i'm not sure if it's worth buing it. the videos doesn't tell a lot (but look fantastic). what are your pros and cons of this game ?

if i buy it now, is version3 included or did i have to buy it extra ?

thanks a lot.

No. I bought this game when it was in beta. The ******* devolopers promised we would get updates and everything. Then suddenly they changed it and its a wortless boring game. Spend your money on drugs and that money was better spend then on US.

That would have been my fault, but I don't see how a retraction diminishes the experience of the current version. I also fail to agree that drugs over an 'educational simulator that masquerades as an epic god game' is a good long term investment.

We've been working on the new version that's still in development for over 2 years. It's a true sequel (and a full rewrite in a new engine). The scope of what we're doing is far more than an update, although that is how I imagined the project early on.

So in answer to the question: Depends what you want it for. I've got Sandbox 2 (current one) and it does everything I need it for. If 3 wows my socks off I might add it to my wish list but that thing is 72 games long so I expect to be enjoying Sandbox 2 for rather a long time before I upgrade. Really, I'd say wait unless you have a pressing need for universe simulation right this very minute.

By the sounds of things, 3 is going to be epic!

Plus, check out Dan Dixon here! He's taking time out of his day to directly appologise and talk and discuss stuff about the game. That's some serious devotion to the player, right there. When the guys making the game care enough about what you think to answer any hairbrained question you pose on a forum, you know the game is going to be good.

I've owned Universe Sandbox for a long time now, but have barely touched it.

My question is, what do you do?
What keeps you guys entertained for so long, and keeps you busy.

For me, in the little I've played, I noticed too much of a sandboxy feel ie no goals or tangeable 'gameplay.'

I haven't even touched the game in what feels like forever, but I'm just curious what keeps you guys playing for so long cause I feel like maybe there's something I'm missing and potentially I could get the same enjoyment from the game myself.

Same. I'd prefer stuff to do in a game, ya know? GTA is a sandbox, but it has missions.

I'd say if you were the kind of person who enjoyed planetariums, then you'd enjoy this.
