Is this worth it?
It's a daily deal...and it seems a good game...Is it worth?

If you got $2.50 then you should buy it,but it's no super cool masterpiece.

Version 3 comes out later this year, and it won't be a free upgrade. So I would wait.

Edit by Dan Dixon: The final version won't be released this year.

It's not really a game....

First, its a sim. Second, everything for 2.5 euro is worth it!

I played around with it for close to an hour before I got bored. Whether that would be worth it to you or not, or if you would get more out of it is your guess. I'd probably wait to see how v3 turned out.

It's a half-game half sim. The reason why is because the physics are not 100% accurate.
I've had a lot of fun with it (on a non steam verison, which is not different).
But if you like to cause havoc then you'll have a lot of fun. What happens if you put the Sun next to Earth? Or two Suns next to each other? Or a black hole? Or why not increase the black hole mass in our galaxy to thousand times its size and see what happens?
Or perhaps a thousand footballs around Earth?
This "game" will answer your questions :)

Eh, I figured for the price of a big mac I could try this thing out.

Title of the game pretty much tells what it's about, you can play around with planets, orbits, stars etc. there's some complexity too when it comes to that. There really isn't any objectives you just play around with the physics engine.

If you're looking for any story, RPG elements, action etc. then you probably shouldn't buy it.

Thanks for the kind words Tutus.

As you increase the speed of time passing (the time step) the accuracy of the simulation decreases. As a low time step or speed... it's quite accurate. Here's more info on that: http://universesandbox.com/faq/#sim

I've enjoyed playing with it, I'd say it is worth it. It's not so much a traditional game as a simulator, it says sandbox right in the name. It lets you edit solar systems and galaxies, then see what happens. If you're interested in science or cause and effect, it's fascinating. If you're interesting in winning something, this isn't that kind of game.

There's a beta later this year for preorders, right? So it sort of comes out.

WTF!!!!!!!!!!????????? Valve is letting developers edit other people's posts on these ridiculous discussion pages now? So the developer doesn't like your post, he can just edit it however he wants? That is insanely corrupt.

#yolo

I think corrupt is an awfully strong word. Youre on a free forum of his game. You dont own any space here or anything like that.
