excellent sports game!
was a bit afraid because licensed sports games often turn out to be garbage, but not this one!
the graphics and character modelling, the sounds and animations, pretty good looking. well programmed commentator commenting on every step you do and the cheering and animated crowd on the tribunes create a realistic "olympic" feeling.
the controls are well-conceived and easy to understand. i suggest using a gamepad, but its also possible to play with keyboard or mouse, after some training sessions.
only thing that annoyed me was the repetitive menu music.
it contains so many different sporting events and game modes, guess there is something in for everyone. the game includes some boni to unlock, also has friendlist + worldwide leaderboards. you can play together with friends, alone, or online, (but online mode seems to be dead)
all together i had a blast playing this, surely recommended, even for the full price! its worth it!
In alot of the events the controls make no sense. Some events work ok, and some are just snookered, its a bloody mess. The long jump is just daft guvna, everything about it is bolloxed, the controls, the way it works, its JUMPING, blimey, does it have to be a MENSA project to pull off jumping? Other events like Archery are fine except for the wind which changes directions so much you might as well be spinning in circles like a prat. From poor controls, to nonsensical QTE events in an OLYMPICS game, to skeets in the skeet shooting event that fly out at a million miles an hour, sheesh. Pip Pip chap, this game is so bloody awful I nearly dropped my crumpet in my tea, your better off taking time to throw another shrimp on the barbie.
(1 point for using the right looking character models when a country is selected, such as team Ginger for Ireland or team Asia for China.) Rating: 1/10 Value: $0.00
