Controller gameplay problem

I have 2 controllers and somehow when I play as Modern sonic and he goes into a 3D mode, somehow he slides into left or right instead of going front [there is no problem in 2D mode and my cousin owns an Xbox controller that works perfectly] so do you guys know how to fix that sliding L/R problem?

EDIT: I've now got an Xbox controller that my cousin doesn't need it anymore, but u can still answer it in case, well... my Xbox controller broke or something

I don't think you're actually holding the control stick straight if it's functioning properly. This happens to me sometimes, too; but every time it turns out I'm not as coordinated as I think.

At least I hope that's the case.

did you try openin the controller to check the mechanics? cause dirt and others can make the joystick sway o.o

i have similar problems but sonic always quick steps to the left in certain 3d areas and sometimes i makes the level unbeatable

I have this problem too; ruined some good runs. Happened the most on the modern sonic green hill zone. Right after ducking under a low bridge and then colliding with breakable boulders causes sonic to repeatedly strafe left.

There was a known strafing bug with non-XPlay game controllers which was allegedly patched. Make sure you have the update... verify game cache etc.

It wasn't patched, it's still there because I get it and it's why I've stopped playing this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game.
