Classic or Modern Sonic?
Which Sonic series do you think is the best? The Classic Sonic Titles from 1991 to 1996 or the Modern 3D Sonic on Present Day Consoles?

i like the modern play-style a bit more(the 3d style in my opinien are in generations, not too slow or too fast and not too much platforming)

I like Both Classic & Modern Sonic. I even like the Classic Sonic in both Saturday Morning Cartoons, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog & Sonic SatAM. But as for Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, it's one of the best Saturday Morning Shows in 1993. They should reair on TV as reruns of all 66 Episodes & have it on Kids on Demand via Verizon along with other classic 80s-90s Cartoon Shows.

I like both Sonic. But i like the Classic more because i grow up playing the old 2D Sonic games plus watching the cartoons.

yeah i agree on the modern even though classic brings back the feel of the 90's modern is what i grew up with so im more use to little platforming :)

Even in Schools around 1991, alot of people like the Classic Sonic.

Modern, it's had to evolve into a very slick speed run game, rather than what would be considered now to be a run of the mill generic platformer.

When the Modren Sonic titles came around, the Chaos Emeralds became a plot device.

Both. They both have their own unique game styles which define them, which makes me wish SEGA could secure a good 2D platformer and a good 3D platformer, to run them side-by-side.

Classic Sonic ofc, because that's when all the original developers were still around. The SEGA console Sonic games were the best anyway. Sonic Adventure was imo the last true Sonic game, despite it having some aspects of the new ones. OLD <3

You guys should check out Sonic Dissected, since they go into this topic alot deeper. Not to mention that there are more eras than just 2D and 3D. You guys have to remember that Modern 3D Sonic games are vastly different than the Sonic Adventure series, in both gameplay and narrative.

How about Adventure Sonic?

I grew up with Classic Sonic but I really love Modern Sonic because I'm an adrenaline junkie and going fast and trying to get the best time is just fun and exciting.
