Optimization Problem?
This game will run at nothing but 60 FPS throughout Green Hill Zone, but when I reach Chemical Plant Zone, the game starts stuttering. This problem persists on and off throughout the game. I have read online that certain people are experiencing an optimization problem.
Does anybody know a fix for this?
My GPU is an EVGA GTX 560 Ti.

Yeah, Chemical Plant is the most heavily unoptimized part of the game (apart from the game itself being quite so, such as only utilizing one core processor of your computer as opposed to two, from what I remember) and tends to leave lingering framerate problems throughout the play session. Even on newer rigs, running a steady 60fps on it is practically impossible.

My laptop at 760m with i7 can't run it at solid 60. My budget 7870 with Phenom 956 can't run it at soild 60 either.

It lags on any modern computer.

OH WELL IT MUST HAVE BEEN MY IMAGINATION.
Perhaps you have not yet developed the idea that not everybody has the same experience with everything?

Same problem, constant lag, with intel I7 and Ati 7000M series.
With my old config (core2duo + 9600GT), better framerate, ...

I have best peroformance with Sonic GMI + FXPipeline shader (on windows 7, no i'm on windows 8.1 x64)

The game is poorly optmized. I have a FX-8320 + GTX 760 and I still get a few slow downs here and there. On the other hand, Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing Transformed runs 60 FPS+ all the time. Good thing that Sonic Team learned how to optimze their games.

Sonic Team didn't make All-Stars Racing Transformed, neither did they handle the PC port of Generations. :P
