I love it! :D THANK YOU.

Most of the information here is only useful for degenerates who don't know how to use a pc nor have ever played games on pc.

I don't get it. Why is this even a sticky?

It looks like there are still moderators here, who else would have made it a sticky.

Eram sticky this! :D

The reason why this was made is because many users kept frequently asking the same question. Why their laptop graphic card doesn't support the game or why it runs below 60. It's really handly guide for users who are new to PC. I'm sure many users will really appreciate.

Hi itrolu:

The Low end part of the guide is just that: Dedicated at users that simply don't know squat on how to optimize the game. Just because we use steam doesn't mean all of us know what dependencies we should have installed or how to handle any type of errors on our own. Heck, most people see an error and get all like "Great, money wasted" and never even try to fix it since there's no sticky on the forums to help. Some of them come to the discussion part in search for stickys, and if they can't find one, they'll just simply give up (heck, my neighbor is a perfect example of this: He either finds the info on steam or bugs me asking what to do, and he isn't such a bad person with technology).

Just because the guide isn't helpful to you, doesn't mean it isn't for others, that's why eram sticked it. :)

Before i went on and made this guide for Generations, i had posted a similar guide for Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed (Which this guide was heavily based on). I tested said guide with several people, especially the Low End part of it (Dedicated more to people with slower computers and especially less powerful and troublesome hybrid-graphics Laptops), and the results where quite good, people loved the way the game played after.

It all really just comes down to this: just because people play on the PC doesn't mean they know what to do when facing an error or issue or even when they want to optimize the game, that's pretty much it. Lot's of new players come from consoles, get to the PC, face the "Invalid Configuration" or "Slow game" symptoms, and have no idea what to do, so they just simply say "The PC sux, don't play on PC, nothing works, blah blah blah".

There are even people with good PC's who don't know how to fix a lot of things, like the Stuttering in this game caused by the game's own vSync.

Pretty much, if you're a PC Veteran, you wont need this guide at all, it can be actually "plain dumb looking" like you said, but for people who are less tech-savy or simply new to the PC and are having their "first time difficulties" this guide can be very helpful, especialy in such a badish port like this one :)

This is really helpful, thanks.

Also so http://abload.de/image.php?img=sonickriotischerfehle12e3v.jpg in etwa.

Keine Ahnung was daran
http://abload.de/image.php?img=ctsonicgenazknf.jpg

Hi AXL979. I tried google translate but let's just say, i only understood that you have a problem haha. Can you speak in english or portuguese, please?

From what i understood, you're having the "The hardware does not match the configuration of the hardware". Are you running a Laptop or a Desktop? In the guide there's the solution for both types of computer, it's quite easy to fix! Just check under "Troubleshooting" :D

OK, my computer is a desktopsystem,
http://abload.de/image.php?img=sggchdqzp.jpg
its all quite new, only the graficscard is alittle bit aged GTX670, the CPU is a core I7-4770k
Virtu is enabled by bios in D-mode, for normal Hyperformance and virtual V-sync is disabled becouse steam can not handle this.
and the screenresolution is nativ 1080p
every game except Sonic Generation performs well on this system.
(including Assassins Creed which although is Havoc based)

http://abload.de/image.php?img=sonickriotischerfehle12e3v.jpg
schwarzen Bildschirm.

Alex979: Do you have the monitor pluged in into the Motherboard or the GTX670? Can you try to plug it into your GTX670, delete the following list of files, run the configuration tool again and see if it works?

Open up the game's folder;
Usualy located at "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\sonic generations"

Delete the following files:
AudioConfig.cfg
GraphicsConfig.cfg
StatsConfig.cfg
DefaultInput.cfg

Also, try to disable Lucid Virtu completly while you try! If this works let me know, so i can guide you on how you can make Sonic Generations work with lucid virtu on (no virtualvsync or hyperformance though)
BlackLionPT May 7, 2014 @ 1:43pm
PS: Try also to change the audio configuration to "System Default", and make sure that on "Resolution" you select one with 60 hz refresh rate!
AXL979 May 7, 2014 @ 2:06pm
No, directly to the graficscard (discrete mode)

dont get me wrong, I payed about €7 on a magazine including this game, and I never ever owned a Laptop, and I hopefully will not have to in future to play this Game.
(Everyone who has listened to me could have nown this by now.)
By the way, the configuration I used before was a AMD FX8320 on an Asus Crosshair V, and I bought this Intel Core I7-4770k only to get full PCI-e X16 support plus Virtu and a bit more CPU Power.
Unfortunately, there isnt much difference betwen the FX and the I7, not to mention the round about €500
Thats why I dont want to comletely shut down Virtu.
(I guess, you also wont shutdown anything you payed 500bucks for and a PSU supprting C State 6/7)

But maybe I delete some cfg`s
at E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\sonic generations
I dont want so much trash on my system SSD, thats why I use E: for this
but dont worry, this is also a SSD (I hate long loading periods)

probably I turn on my 5.1 surround sound system, but the front speaker on the lefthandside seems to have somewhat like a short circuit, or so.
(sorry, I meant a loose joint or a slack contact)

PS; thanks for your response,

to delete the cfg´s allready did the Job!!

So, if i understood correctly, deleting the cfg files fixed the problem right? If so, great! If you still have any other issues, just say and i'll try to help!
