It all started with Counter Strike. When I barely knew anything about FPS games on PC. When I was only familiar with Survival Horror games as tank controlled models in 3d environments. Until I played Counter strike with a couple of friends. Some friendships were lost and others were born from that game. A couple of LAN parties later, my curiosity got the better of me and I decided to click on "Play Half Life" Thinking it was a demo for an upcoming multiplayer shooter. I did not know what was in store. I don't think anyone was ready for what Half Life offered, really. I need to emphasize on the fact that throughout my very first 5 to 6 hours, I still thought it was a demo. Headcrabs, crowbars, bleeding scientists running amok, these images still flash before me until today. It feels like yesterday when I tried to pass through the hallway only to get sucked up by a pod infested thing. I think the scariest moment for me was fighting that huge boss from afar, I cant recall his name but the whole experience with Half life was haunting. Only 2 games did I play as a kid where I was literally walking step by step. One was Silent Hill 2, the other was Half Life. By today you should already know what Half Life represents and what it influenced. If you haven't played it, I don't need to tell you what you need to do.
