Novice Requesting advice.
I have a bit of a tough issue im trying to resolve.
Currently i am trying to build a Mobile refinery style ship, i will have a metal smelter and *possibly* electronics + adv parts manufacturing, it's origional design was that it would have a ship port to harbour some small mining vessels which would mine the ore for it.
when designed and implimented the mining ships would not give ore to the ship (and yes, it has got ore storage [far more then the mining ships]) and instead circle jerk around giving other mining ships the ore instead...
any one know how to resolve this or is this outside the games abilitys?
*side note* my miners also like to destroy them selves while mining, not happened often but its still a pain... may i ask why they do?

no small vessels are needed or used. the Mobile Refinery itself should include 1. mining laser 2. Metal Refinery and 3. Export dock. I also like to add a small cargo hold to help buffer..though I dunno if it helps.
This fit will automine and refine ore and send it automatically to one of your planets.
The downside is..they're stupid. The ship will mine an asteroid for a minute then move across the map to another instead of finishing the one it's on..wastes time and I can't see how to stop that.

These are launch and ignore ships so you want the bussard ramjet and collector and have the ship not require refueling. You can't really build them till you get antimatter generators.

my reply is based on the un modded game. The very popular GA mod makes a completely different game especially regarding ship design. This mod is actually a little too easy for my taste.
