So finished the game
What next? I have basically two options: new game + and endless mode (the mode where you have to pay forever until the failure does not appeal me). Which one is better? Does ng+ continues my level? Does it add new higher payments, items, dungens and heroes to hire or is it just repeated ng? Does the endless mode become plain sandboxing?

Endless does not add more payments (that's what survival mode is for), but there are more dungeons and adventurers to unlock. Big dungeons and powerful adventurers.

I guess newgame+ is mostly of use when you want to get 100% completion, because you need the True Cards of all adventurers to do that. When starting newgame+, you choose a savegame to start from, and all stuff, levels, reputation carries over. So you can do that at any time even when you choose endless for now.

Plus it always feels good to offer 1pix to Euria without having to worry about the consequences :)

So, afaik you get one true card per hero per game. I've gotten Louie. So does this mean that I have to finish the game sevaral times to get all true cards that go towards 100% only?

And Euria was always getting 1pix when she would have been the first customer so the just combo didn't suffer much. Screw her

Yes, you'd have to complete it multiple times 8, to be precise. But since all your stuff carries over, you should be able to make enough money for the whole week in 2 days. Refinishing the game doesn't take nearly as much time as the first round. If you want you can just coast through. Oh, you do start at 1000pix again, so be sure to spend all your money before you restart.

And for the record, because much of the 100% comes from random rare drops in the last dungeon, getting there takes a really, really long time. I'm at 260 hours and I'm still only at 95%.

And Euria was always getting 1pix when she would have been the first customer so the just combo didn't suffer much. Screw her
Well, actually ... since the combo bonus is exponential, missing the first or last transaction just about halves the total xp for that timeslot (assuming <8 customers). Of course, at this point your level is probably high enough anyway, and it just feels so good to see her run out of the store, that it's totally worth it, isn't it.

Wow, 100% looks like really redundant. Perhaps I'll stick to the endless mode at the moment. Just to know more story and get to lvl 50. Just out of curiousity what high-end items can be purchased then.
I know a trick how to avoid Euria; if the story is not important, just stay away from the town square where you first meet her. If you don't meet her, she should not show up at all. Not that much of a loss, considering how she tries to sell wallpapers for the price of my whole budget

If memory serves the last batch of new items you can buy in stores appear at merchant level 23. The level 50 bonus is that if you die in a dungeon you can carry out three items. Pretty underwhelming I know, and while the merchant level continues to go up after 50 there's to my knowledge no real benefit.

Wow. Now it sounds more like grinding. But at higher level dungeons provide more unique items, right? Right? :)

Yes. And how.

The game doesn't end with your last payment. That's only half the story, really. The full storyline is played out through cutscenes in town and through dungeon progression. Endless mode lets you spend more time in the dungeons and less time playing shopkeeper.

In fact, you probably could go dungeon diving more often than you think (more progression prior to the last payment). Items gained in dungeons are pure profit, and a 550pix Antivenom for free is like an 11k item sold at pin levels, and picking up even 10 such items in a dungeon saves you 110,000pix in upfront costs at the guild (and that's just in your first week).

You sorta want to keep opening the shop regularly, as this is your real means of 'upgrading' your adventurers (unless you want to use up slots to bring gear manually). Once you make that last payment, you'll want to make an attempt at a dungeon set daily, and open your shop for the remaining two slots.

So, all in all, I'm going for the endless mode. Maybe sometime later, when I feel getting 100%, I'll blast through the ng+. One more thing, can all "unique characters" be unlocked and hired? maybe I am spoiling myself, but I've gotten Charme, Louie and Eran unlocked.
Zourin 2013年7月28日 2時55分
Every time you pay off your debt, you get the 'True Card' for the character you dungeoneered with the most. This is a permenant unlock that lets you access that hero immediately upon starting NG+. It takes about 8 run-throughs in order to gain everyone's True Card and complete the storyline.

If, say, you get Louie's True Card in your first pass, you'll still have to complete all the steps to re-recruit the others on the second pass. They'll all retain their equipment and levels, just like you.

it's not as tricky getting boss-unlocked adventurers in NG+ because you keep your old dungeon progression too, but you have to go dungeoning with them enough that they give you their true card once you finish the last payment.

There are 8 adventurers in total. If you haven't unlocked Tielle yet, that means you haven't even completed Amber Garden, so you still have 4 whole dungeons to go. Yeah, you still have quite a bit of content to go through.

Also, @Zourin
Items gained in dungeons are pure profit, and a 550pix Antivenom for free is like an 11k item sold at pin levels.
Items in town are sold at 70% base price, but at 100%, so selling at 105% is still a 35% profit. So the comparison for a 550pix antivenom would be something like an 1500pix item, which is much more reasonable.

That comes out to closer to a 50% profit rather than 35% (1.05/.7 for the mathmatically inclined). Even then, that's still doubling the effective value of dungeon loot by cutting out the up-front costs.

I only stumbled on that nugget *after* I made the post (learn something every day). Even then, if you do a run through Jade Way picking up items worth 500+pix, that's a solid 15-20 items with no up-front costs other than hiring the hero, saving you around 15-20k that you may not already have (and probably won't in the first week)

I prefer to complete Jade Way in the first week as early as possible, doing one dungeon set a day and bringing back as much stuff as possible (and sell off in the morning/midmorning). You can get a lot of good stuff that way while you're on a paupers budget. (Admittedly, this is mostly because I want Caillou to pay my first week's bills.)

yeah, I've tried to avoid dungeons as they are too much of a hassle and not enough profit/good items. Usually, I pick Charme and just run through all floor. But in the end, I stick to the guild/market as paying off the debt was more important. But since it is all over now, 4 dungeons... wow. And I can unlock all adventures in the endless mode, right? No need for true cards?

Doing a routine 2-3 dungeons a week really balances the game out a lot. You spend 5 levels a day dungeoning, get a bunch of loot to bring back (and vendor fillers), and spend the rest of the time cooling your heels and hoping adventurers show up and buy equipment upgrades. It's a different approach to a game that *can* be won by simply playing the numbers game, but I feel like i'm missing out on the greater challenge of the 'dungeoneer victory'

SPOILERS (NPC Unlock, new game, and debt info below)

...

If you want to unlock all adventurers (even in a NewGame+ to get True Cards for later Adventurers), and avoid Euria. It is possible.

After you get Charme and Callou as Adventurers, you have to go to town square to get Tielle looking for her sister before the Amber Garden will open. This is where you generally hit Euria.

Euria will not show up if you have less than 100,000 pix in cash (not counting stock, etc.). So make sure you're cash low after you beat Jade Way & fill Caillou's order before looking for Tielle (2-3 events in first 2 day parts in Plaza should get that).

Once that is done, there is no NPC unlock that requires a Morning/Noon Plaza visit and you can unlock all the Adventurers without having Euria ever show up as a customer.
