Are Dungeons Worth It?
I just started Endless Mode and I still only have Jade Way and Amber Gardens unlocked.

My runs through these dungeons are...less than stellar...

All the equipment I get in these runs are all cheap stuff (Unthankful Statues,Worn Swords etc.). The best thing I've ever gotten out these runs is a Parade Armor,Knights Shield and a ring or two.

The ingredients I get are good however with only 30 inventory slots combined with the fact that items don't stack; it makes inventory management a hassle when doing full start to finish runs.
This makes gathering a decent amount of items for Fusion a problem for me as well.

Is this just how it is or am I doing something horribly wrong? How do you all efficiently gather items for Fusion? Are the later dungeons better?

I did the dungeons to see more tid bits of dialouge and story. You can carry 35 items if you raise your merchant level to level 40. I think using Charme is a good way to finish dungeons quickly because her dash is good.

There are several more dungeons to unlock. Around level 30~ of the obsidian tower (4th dungeon?) you start unlocking items you can't get anywhere else in the game. Just look at the fusion menu. Level 5 items are possible, and with only those dungeons open you havn't even seen half the items required to make fusion level 1 stuff. The real game is in the later dungeons. the "story" is really just the tutorial =D

As for "how to farm fusion stuff" Basically after a while you learn where the best farming spots for what you want are, and just go after a specific item at a time. Drop any items that aren't rare, or drop the lowest fusion multipliers (+1 toothpicks?....ahahahah, go over there with that walnut bread). Some of the later dungeons also do offer much better farming areas. eg. In the last tower there's one level that offers every type of knight in large quantities and is great for farming crystals. Also just drop any items you could buy. Money is no object in endless (I'll make about 800k if i sit down and open shop for a day) so don't waste time carrying around stuff you could just buy at any time.

Also getting all the different adventurers is pretty fun, and running each through the dungeons. 8 adventurers in total i believe.

Sorry, it would probably help if you knew how to get the next dungeon. If you have beaten Amber Garden you should have Tielle (the archer ... Also my favorite adventurer. Weak at the start, but after a few good items god ...golly.. that "cuterage" damage output).

Go to town center a few times at night, and you'll meet someone named "Griff" a couple times. After you meet him twice, change your store atmosphere so it's "dark" and in the middle of "gaudy" and "plain". He'll visit the shop between evening and night, and tell you you should leave town.

Revert your store back to normal (maybe a bit towards plain if anything), and another adventurer (louie) will visit in the morning - afternoon telling you a new dungeon has been has been found. Obisidian Tower awaits.

I'm a massive fan of this game, if you want to know anything else, just send me a message, more than happy to provide any answers.

Oddly enough I started up the game a couple minutes ago (before reading your post)and unlocked Obsidian Tower. Weird coincidence...

Thanks for the detailed advice. It's a bit too late where I live to do a deep dungeon run so I'll check out Obsidian Tower later today.

And,yes, Tielle is awesome. At first, I thought she wasn't that good. Took me a while to realize you could charge up her attacks...and THEN it took me more time to realize you could charge her attacks WHILE moving...*facepalm*

EDIT: I just checked your profile...Holy Carp...you weren't kidding when you said you are a fan of this game. 100hrs...

Some tips for Tielle if you want them:

-Her last ability "Cuterage" is very overpowered. It has a relatively low mana cost, and causes her to charge her attack at insane speeds, and causes it to hit a 6th level. This fires the same number of arrows as level 5, but with "supposedly" increased damage (unable to confirm myself, appears to be the exact same as level 5 *shrug*).

-Tielle is not a defensive character, don't bother. Stack + attack and blow things up. Tielle is a strong kiter with her ability to attack things following her while running away at charge levels 4-6. You shouldn't get hit that often enough to worry about defensive stats.

- Her starshot ability (image looks like a Centaur) does low damage, and is pretty much completely random. However extremely usefull at clearing out a room of low level enemies (aka. when facing 2 eyebat kings and the room is full of eyebats.

- Multiple arrows CAN strike the same target. A point blank level 5 charge is like getting hit in the face with a shotgun. It hurts. A lot.

- Back to kiting, there are certain enemies that get defensive when you either face them or are near. Use Tielle's range to get them before they can react. sometimes you can even snipe mobs before they activate if you catch them at the far edge of the screen. Don't be afraid to run in circles using level 4-6 charge shots to poke anything trying to follow you. Running is your friend.

- When you first get her use Harp Bow, Strongarm Band, Battle Sweater, Pirate Hat, and your choice of last item (i'd use something like Violet necklace for a bit of balanced defence to start, change out to a runeshield ASAP)

Everything you just said about Tielle sounds great.

How do you feel about Charme? I know she has short range but does her dash and later abilities make up for it?
Vapid Actions 18 iul., 2013 @ 5:37pm
Lots of people really like Charme, and she has the ability to block ranged attacks (even some magic ones) by tapping movement into the direction of the attack just before it lands. Really annoying to pull off though. Personally if I want an adventurer with a dash to run through levels to a farming area I prefer Elan. He's 100* tankier, has dash, and has the highest single spell damage output in the game (he has some sort of thousand palm strike) during which he's also invincible. Albiet the cost of this ability is pretty intense -- pretty much 100% of your mana.

Charme is fast(even normal run speed is faster than other adventurers) and does good damage output while using clone, but she's not tanky enough to be at that close of range later into the game imho. Tielle does much higher damage, and can do so at a safe range.

A note I missed on Tielle's OP ability cuterage: for a very brief period when you cast it, you're invincible. Timing (or spamming) can make you dodge really nasty attacks. It also paralyzes any nearby enemies, she's immune to knockback/down for the duration, and unlike Elan's Beserk, she can still cast other abilities and use items while under its effect. Did I mention it's OP?

You heard it here folks: "Cuterage" is OP.

Didn't know about Charme's block ability. I'll test it out to see how annoying it is to pull off.

So basically, Charme is good for quick low-level dungeon runs. Elan's tankiness and dash makes him a better candidate for higher level dungeon farming. Tielle is for when you absolutely must murder the crap out of everything. I am surprised she doesn't have a dash. I suppose they decided she was OP enough as it is.

If you want to Bossrun, though, I would really like you to consider Caillou :)
Insane damage with that shardspell, and if you can aim the icemine, it is game over.
Also unlocks a tp spell on a later level (works like the tp chest trap), which you can use in bossfights to basically dodge the next attack.
For boss rushes, Caillou is the goto character, imho.

Charme also is invincible for a second when she dashes (when you see the after images when she is dashing, it means she is invincible) and she is also invincible when using flame charge. If you learn to use her properly, Charme is good all around, not just for low level dungeons. But number one in my book is Tielle. Even in the boss rush of the final dungeon, when properly equipped she can down most large bosses in just a few charged shots. Theres another character you'll unlock who is really good too. Almost tied with Tielle imo. Has a skill like Elan's which makes him do more damage, take less damage, and attack faster, plus a skill which lets you absorb HP from enemies. He is also the one character who has a charge attack that actually does good damage. Everyone else's flame charge skill is good for dodging and not much else. On top of that he has an awesome dash; he is invincible during it and can pass through enemies. I'd say he is probably the easiest to use overall because you can dodge attacks easily like Charme, but also have a much higher damage output, and he has a much better range on his standard attack than Elan. I still like Tielle more though...it's just sort of hilarious for a young girl who is obsessed with candy to be a frigging death machine that can slaughter everything around her.
Vapid Actions 20 iul., 2013 @ 12:19pm
Like Elan however Griff (as mentioned above) cannot use other items or abilities while enraged, so it "can" be a death sentence if used incorrectly.
