Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

Why is this game so addicting?
Like, real talk. It's 3 A.M. Started playing at 10 P.M. This game is amazing. Anyone else feel the same way? :L

I tried the demo ages ago and had it at the top of my wishlist until recently when i finally bought it... I knew it was good... but after 8 solid hours of playing and still can't stop playing... It's the ease of playing, the epic humor... I really don't know what it is exactly yet... using a controller just makes it even more addictive...
I just started playing. Man this is too good. Puts a smile to my face and that says a lot.
Ha.... I just got the game yesterday and I am addicted to it, I really hope they make more games like this one. It's a fun, light, and funny game that I play when Dark Souls is making me smash my head against my desk, but I still play it alot even when I'm not going insane trying to beat Dark Souls. Went from like 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. yesterday on Recettear.
On a side note, does anyone know if Fortune Summoners is a sequel to this or not?
I was wondering this as well. I expected this game to be ok based on reviews but I cannot wait to get back home to play more. The best word I can think of is "charming" to describe the entire experience.
It's the capitalism. Buying cheap stuff from poor scrubs, screwing people over and over again, making adventurers do your dirty deeds for your own profit whilst sacrificing their own sorry lives. ALL DIS CAPITALISM

CAPITALISM, HO!

I hate the little girls in this game. Always trying to buy expensive things when they have barely any money. There should be a, "Kick customer out" option.

I just came across them. I can't lower my price just because she's little. I have standards. Don't like the price? Get out of my store. It's just a freaking orange anyway.

Exactly! The worst is when she asks for a bracelet, and all I have is a Spiked Wristband for way over her budget. I even try to lower it to maybe 85%, yet she never takes it, so I always just deny the fact that I have what she wants, unless it's something cheap like Candy or a book.
I assume they get harder to sell to the little girl as your average goods price increases. I'm a week in and Recettear is now Slimes 'r' Us.

It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't come in and order 2 books all the time... Then, when it comes time for her to come in and buy them, she complains that they're too much and leaves.
i love this game as well everything about it appeals to me the anime style charecter art the classic zelda style action and dungeon crawling looking for loot to sell need i say more i love indie games like this and i would not hesitate to buy a sequel if they ever make one.

yeah it gets annoying i have a simmilare issue but its whenever that merchant guild guy comes in he asks for a treasure i have a thankful statue and he never buys it =/ gets annoying after awhile.

Yeah, the Merchant Guild owner likes to complain about prices a lot too, even when it's barely above base price.

It is funny when he comes in and buys something I bought from him for a much higher price.
I think it's worth creating a little clan for the Recettear lovers. Completely redundant, but a nice little thing to have, maybe to share random tales of your shop or other hobbies, might even play co-op with other games or something.
