So, how do we expand our item shop army?
Recettear is a hard game to describe to others? How do you "introduce" your friends to such a niche' game?

For anime "otakus": "It's a game with a loli that sells stuff and hires mercenaries to get more stuff to sell"

For everyone else: "It's a cute game where you sell stuff while you remind why you do suck at economy".

For cabletards that haven't learned how to turn off the TV: "Imagine if Pawn Stars had a videogame... on LSD"

Wait, I need to find more friends first :D

Also, how do you give them beginer tips without spoiling how the system works? I wish I knew about Near Pins and cusomer relations at the start of my game instead of trying to sqeeze the most amount of money possible out of my customers...

I've been playing the entire game without even reading a guide (or the often-mentioned Recettear Wiki). But then, if your friends attention span isn't negative, they should quickly notice that.

Still, tell them that there is a free demo and a HUGE reference site. I don't think that reading a guide would spoil too much - half of the fun is playing the *actual* game.

Try to get them try out the demo.

Demo is the best choice. I put two hours in the demo before I decided to buy the game (granted, I had to wait because of sales and prices ($20 is a bit too much for this game, $15-10 is a better price)).

I call it 'Capitalism: The Game', and suggest that people give it a shot.

Give them a chance to play out the demo or goof off on one of your newgame+ with no expectations so the can see if the just like playing with the system or characters. its such an open game that if people go in willing to try it it has something for almost every one. But like the other topic for this game ovoid people who through tantrums about there own missconceptions of things.

Just go to the guy on this hub that posted that long and funny description about the game minus the profanity and i think it covers the entire game. Hands down.
