0. Keep a stock of cheap crap (e.g. rusty swords, bread, etc.) on hand just in case.

1. Buy yourself a boatload of cheap books.
2. Wait for a books boom to happen.
3. Sell many books to sate the appetite of little girls who love reading, and who learn to love your store for it.
4. Watch as they come buying expensive stuff left and right.

4 is the problem they come buying expensive stuff that i can only sell to them for 113% as opposed to 125% to anyone else

I normally only go for 125% with people like the Guild Master...for everyone else it seems they're a lot happier if I don't overcharge them as much.

i run 125 for grandpa and the robot type chick, 125.99 for guy, 124.99 for lady, 113 for kid, 117 for louie, 120 for charme, 150% for aloutte .. never encountered anyone else. i also think my game is bugged as i get very little treasure from dungeons and the rat king NEVER shoots bubbles (it wasnt until i played a new game on a different file that i was like hey thats new) in NG+ it took charme 19 days to show up despite going straight to her on day 1

You are doing it wrong then. Yes, maximum profits look great, but you suffer in the long run. Throughout my entire game, I only gave Pin Price deals (except on a few extremely good sales with orders) and never had Eluria in my game. Getting more sales EXP with a certain customer increases their budget for deals in which you decide the item to sell.

By selling everything at high/max profit, you only gain 1 exp per deal. I gain double of that on the worst attempts, and ten times on the best.

And I still repaid my debt!

Keep it up and the poor Girl will have 60000 Pix budget at max. Alouette has the highest budget obviously, and so will Charme and Caillou

He does it more often in the later reincarnations, including a third hit in the combo

Getting them to your store requires a certain atmosphere setting. Try making it look dark. You can check your store atmosphere with Tear.
the prices i run at ensure there is always a purchase, so im not getting 1 xp per deal, im getting combo bonuses + max profit, well thats how i was playing, now i have majority of true cards i really dont care about money any more, i have over 150 supervends that i am selling through a supervend, people dont care if there is a price crash or not they will still buy them at full price, and i stock up on them when they are price down.
Just sell them stuff cheap at a really good deal, like 50-60% and eventually they'll have plenty of money.
