Controller support
I am aware that there is 3rd party mods and stuff to make a controller work on any game, but is controller support going to come natively to this game? It is perfect for it and I'm pretty surprised it isn't on already.

I concur, 100%. I had this game on my 3DS already, but bought it here as well, as I thought it would be great to play it with my xbox-controller on a bigger screen.

This is the only disappointing thing about this game so far. It really should not be played on a keyboard.

Would kill for this, would make an excellent edition to my Media Center PC now that Big Picture Mode is out.

Yeah, this thread is making me feel better about not having a controller for gaming, and overall when reading threads that mention "This game really is MEANT fro a controller." Not that having one wouldn't be the most awesomest thing for my gaming experience. But for me, at least for this game, I can manage just fine without one. I'm saying, this game has three directional buttons. I play it while drinking coffee with one hand, and pinky and thumb painting with the other.

I would just enjoy the experience of playing this game with a controller. Of course you can play with a keyboard, or else this game would have failed miserably. But that is not the point. I play PC games because for most games I prefer a mouse and keyboard. But every now and then a game comes along that is suited so well for a controller that I actually do want to use the controller. For example, Braid, Cave Story, Cloning Clyde, and this.

And for those who haven't played or heard of Cloning Clyde, or haven't heard of it, I would look into it. A great platformer.

I went from fairly giddy at the prospect of getting to play VVVVVV again when I saw it was finally available for Linux this afternoon. Then I fired it up and inwardly groaned when I was abruptly reminded that this game doesn't support controllers. Really took the buzz off my excitement at playing it again. Now I have to find and install a keyboard to controller mapper before I can get down to enjoying this otherwise awesome gaming experience.

you can use a free 3rd party program joy2key: Website link [www.electracode.com]

and here is the default 360 config for joytokey:

No controller support? no buy then.
dTTb Jan 9 @ 12:06pm
I didn't at any point miss controller support honestly; the fluency of a keyboard for a game like this... Perhaps that's just what I got used to way back.
Fighters, gamepads, for sure. 2D platformers? Keyboards. Mechanical preferred.*

*but make sure to have another in case the game in question takes it's toll on your nerves ;)

indeed, just started it and i was so disappointed for the lack of controller supporr. The game is funny tho
