Grey screen with only build number and fps count

Hi All,

Did anybody experience this:
Installed on a ubuntu, 63 bit, 13.04, nvidia drivers.

Game starts and loads only a grey screen with a small checkerboard pattern, in green the build number ( exosyphen.4.heb-build.2.04-Linux) and the fps.
There is also music, but nothing more.

I followed the advise on this url just to be sure, which did not change much.

Actually, I managed to find a post from Smeg

He did in fact find a way to make it work, editting settings.ini and setting windows mode (or in my case fullscreen) to 0
He didn't seem to get any replies on his post, which leads me to believe multiple people are still somewhat stuck with this.
