Jurassic-Sized Update and Last Stand DLC
Soon, everyone who owns Dino D-Day will get a free update. The update is quite large - a near-total replacement of the old game with a new one. We've migrated the entire game to a new branch of the Source engine. There will be changes to environments, animations, models, HUD/UI...more improvements than you can shake a dinosaur femur at. Also coming soon is a DLC pack that will completely change how you play the game. We've posted a breakdown of what we're working on over on the blog, as well as some WIP screenshots.

Take a look! [www.dinodday.com]

This is some great news! (Or kinda bad news if you were looking forward to Dino D-Day 2.)
And those new visuals look awesome! Also I noticed you finally updated Dino D-Day's ModDB page!
So is Dino D-Day 2 EVER going to be a thing, or is it gone forever?

It sucks, to be honest. My monitor died and I dunno if I will ever get a new one, so until then my PC is unusable and therefore I cannot play the update :(

It will be a thing. We don't have anything to talk about now but it's in development.

Will the new update have uncensored textures?

How much is the new DLC gonna cost? Are people who already own the game gonna get like a 15% off coupon?

No, it´s not gonna be free. It was actually developed as Dino D-Day 2.
So you could regard the free update (which makes use of a newer source branch) as a free graphical update (and maybe some other improvements) and the DLC which introduces a new gamemode (survival) as the unofficial Dino D-Day 2.
Here´s a quote from the text which you should have read before your posting, SpaceHarry:

" So the Survival Mode is paid DLC? Didn’t you say it would be free?
Yes, we did. We initially began work on the survival mode and planned for it to be a free update to Dino D-Day. But it grew as we worked on it. More importantly, we started to view it as the core of what we thought would be “Dino D-Day 2”. We merrily developed Dino D-Day 2 throughout 2013 and early 2014 as a survival style co-op game. Unfortunately, during this process we learned from Valve that they would no longer be licensing Source. "

I think you could consider it something more along the lines of DDD 1.5.
What do they mean when they say "Valve would no longer be licensing Source"?

source 2.0 confirmed and around the corner?
