As you can look, in your /steam/SteamApps/common/Half-Life/gldrv/ folder you can find a file named 3dfxgl.dd . It's a basic driver made for 3dfx cards. Maybe 3dfx cards were greats in th 90's but now we're out of this ♥♥♥♥. So rename the dll as as-you-want.dll and locate your graphic card's opengl driver Nvidia: nvogl*.dll Ati: atiglpxx.dll and Intel: igadev*.dll and copy it to that folder. Then , rename the dll as 3dfxgl.dll . Reboot your PC, and now HL is working with your manufacturer's OPENGL Driver.. Works a lot better, No ?

They must think were all made of money and can buy new hardwear every other day. Im on a fixed income, old as dirt and now the last update has killed all my favorite games, Thanks Steam---NOT !!!

Totally agree with you Splat. Now, my netbook that I used to play HL1 with is totally unusable for it now. And it's impossible to install Ubuntu on it, so bye bye gaming in the public transports :-((
