black screen
kinda curous of how im the only one with this problem, i see no other discussion posts involving this bug. when in the game title screen, and you choose to go into the options menu, any of the choices will cause the game to black out. it appears to be a hardware issue, but it definitely is the game itself causing this. are there any fixes for this? are there grounds for refunds if there is no fix? i dont wanna waste time keeping if it doesnt work.

I just had this happen to me, and I can't figure out how to fix it. I've been through all the compatibility options and even tweaking the .ini files to change the resolution etc etc... nothing is working. I can't even load the game now, it just stays minimized on my taskbar and when I try to go into game the screen flashes black and the it auto-minimizes again, refusing to come up. I was able to get to the title screen the very first load of the game, went into options like normal to change the resolution, and bam. Permanently disabled after that. I even tried the whole widescreen application thing from mediafire. Nothing is working, and it's really starting to upset me. I was able to play on my old computer which was Win 7 pro w/ sp 1 x64 and a GeForce GTX 560M, now I have an exponentially more powerful machine and nothing. Can't play it. I wanted to play this game again but it looks like I just have a dead game in my inventory that I can't play. Wonderful.

I finally found a solution that worked for me.. it took me 2 days googling and trying every single "fix" out there and none of them worked till I found this post.

*%$#&)*^%#$ Logitech "SetPoint.exe"

closed "Logitech Keyboard and Mouse" (SetPoint.exe process) and now DX:IW works fine...

I couldnt belive it but it worked... so now when you enter a load screen, it looks like it is crashing but then it "boots" back to the loading screen... So don't freakout! Please let me know if this worked for you.. also, if you don't have Logitech mouse, disable whatever mouse .exe you are using.

No. That program only effects your other mouse features such as the extra buttons. After you finish playing the game just launch your mouse program and your are back where you left off.

So basically shut the program down only before playing the game.
