I boot up the game, and it displays nothing. I can randomly click around and the menus "work", so it dosen't crash. Any fix of sorts?--

Try dowloading Kentie's launcher.

Also download the OpenGL render from here: http://www.cwdohnal.com/utglr/ Install in Steam\SteamApps\common\Deus Ex\System.

Then select the OpenGL render from Kentie's config window.
