Checkpoint stuttering.
So I just started playing this game today and I'm enjoying it, but every time the game autosaves it stutters for like 1-2 seconds and its really annoying. Other than that the game runs smooth at 60 fps on minimal settings. Anyone know a fix?

I don't know that there is a fix for this. I think some of these finicky things that happen are just inherent to the game's optimization. I get thost loading stutters too. It seems less worse when playing in DX10 which I usually end up playing with. I also get smooth fps with all the bells and whistles on in DX11 however there are odd moments and odd places in maps where the fps will dip heavily. One minute I'll be in an area with screen space reflections all over and tesselation and dynamic lights and all is well and smooth and then the next I'll walk into a room simple filled with smoke and the fps will cut in half. Not sure why. So I just play with the DX10 exe and sacrifice the tesselation for the always consitent fps.

Oh well, I guess you are right. Also thanks for the reply. I really wasn't expecting anyone to ever find this thread.

HDD or SSD performance issue, sounds like it to me , clean it out remove unwanted programs and defrag if it's a HDD , if its a SSD use the tools that came with the SSD to monitor its health.. hope that helps.

That's just how the game is. Mad Max, Saints Row IV, and Batman: Arkham Origins have the same stutter with each auto save.

Yeah I have read some people with certain hardware configs have problems with some games on the the Unreal engine , but to be honest , I only ever seen that issue when a game is pushing my system to the max , I have a few different systems and noticed the issue is not on all of them using the same games , I did fix some of the issues on my older gaming rig , by disabling windows aero desktop.. hope that helps.

Stuttering in this game is related to NVidia Drivers (confirmed some time ago), no problems here on my AMD build.
