cant really farm for anything until you are at least 74 to be able to wear myth gears, then you can play on a little harder maps. if you are on 74, then id do sky city or aquanos. if you want to farm mana then id say go to ubers monsters but that you would want to be at least 78 or so. 380k mana is nothing really. i used to give away 100mil for the hell of it. gl

Try this out:
1. Get a tower squrie/countess to 35-40.
2. Get to Ramparts.
3. Farm exp on Hard HC Ramparts until I have a couple of 70lvl characters.
4. Farm Insane HC Ramparts or Endless Spires for some more or less good godly items.
5. Run through some Insane HC Challanges to get nice weapons (Warping Core for Crystal Tracker, Ogre Crush for the monk weapon, Raining Goblins for the apprentice weapon, etc).
6. Grind Insane HC Glitter survival (I chose survival so there's no timer - it's a little easier to solo that way). Glitter will bring you some nice godlies and tons of mana.
7. Upgrade my countess' gear for tower stats and put some char on a DPS duty and upgrade his weapon's damage.
8. Run through NMHC Deeper Well to see if I can handle NM mobs. If not - back to the Glitter grind.
9. Go the Endless Spires and farm the first wave (if you're soloing then only 3 sharkens, 4 spiders and one ogre will be your biggest problem).
10. Start gathering low/middle tier myth gear.
99. Kick♥♥♥♥♥

Also, after first myths started to appear in my equip, I went to the Alchemical Labs Insane HC survival for a couple of giraffes for my builders.

Also, you can cut some corners buying myth gear in players' shops, I guess.

Worked for me once on pure solo on local, now trying this out on ranked. Working nicely so far.

There used to be decent cheap shops that sold good myths but they seem to be hard to find nowadays.

You know, I've been looking for a reason to engage DD again, if the OP or anybody else needs help gearing up, add me, I might be able to help. Just be warned I don't tolerate greedy people.

I'd really love some help. I just started playing Dungeon Defenders. I have a lv71 Tower Apprentice, lv45 Tower Squire, lv51 Aura Monk, and I've started a little Ranger, too.

Just wanted to add: I never see AFK shops. At all. I have been grinding Ramparts on Hard w/ my Apprentice to power level my little guys and build up mana. I haven't really upgraded anything, as I want to save my money for good gear.

when you hit the 70's and have beaten the game on at least hard move to insane and grind to glitter caverns. you can very easily get to 74 and make some decent money on insane with 300-400 tower stats of course more tower damage the better. if you can get a dps high enough to do assult pack you can make 9m mana in about 4min solo this can fund your other tower builders. when you can break about 1k on a squire/countess start farming your way up normal nm's bad myths will drop but this is how you move up the game w/o using shops. at about 1200 you should be able to build a solid survival in nm of course you need to get all of the towers 3 star and have a good dps to handle the repairs during fights deep well is very easy in fact as long as you can get EVE walls in the right place and summoners just out of reach you can win with about 1200 and alot of repairing +1 or 2 friends.

as far as "farming" most people have no clue how to farm in the game. you can see how the drops work if your paying any attention at all. what do you want? armor? guns? monk weapons? pick one. then do this
1. build a survival / up everything till your comfortable.
2. have controlers or be solo either or pick the class with the weapon you want or pick summoner to have gear drop. (must be the only class active in the game ie: 4 summoners 4 huntresses)
3. if you want armor to drop summoner should have an imp (to repair from far away) if you havnt dps geared them and a guardian (app usually best). or monkey/cupid is fun also.
4. play
5. at the end of each round if you chose weapons to drop guess what drops? ie: playing a squire lots of swords drop. play huntress lots of guns. any hybrid gets you the hybrid weapons. summoners get you armor.

ever wonder why the trans or supremes that do drop are always weapons? just use summoners and then they turn into gear. zomg loots.

you can farm in the game it just takes practice and a few friends.
